Part 7

Sudha looked at the clock it's quarter past 9 o'clock at night. Maan wasn't home yet. He usually used to come before 8. She was alone at home. It wasn't the first time that she was alone; it had been her habit. Like many women of her age when her husband and children were out she was at home.

It had been her routine but time changes. Dev falling in love with a wrong girl proved detrimental to the peace of the family. Now she didn't not enjoy her favourite SaaS bahu serial. Her husband didn't listen to the prime time debate. Both her sons neither watch the IPL.

Dinner was already prepared. She looked around nothing to keep her occupied. She dialled Maan' number. He didn't pick. She looked up, prayed silently for a minute then wiped her moist eyes.

It's been ages since she didn't talk to Maan like she used to do before. Being younger he would come to her room and lay his head on her lap while she watched her serial and he has always remained busy in his mobile. Now she notices this habit of his has changed most of the time Maan accompanied Dev. Not that she complains but she misses her little boy.

"Bua bua Dadi khane ko bula rahi hain" Dhruvika came prancing to call Geet.

"Aur chhutku tumhe bhi" She tolding giggling and ran.

DHRUVI! Geet yelled behind her but Dhruvika disappeared as she came.

Her six old niece was in a habit of calling all friends by their name. But in case of Maan like her father she used to call chhutku which he doesn't mind.

When Geet was about to follow Dhruvika he held her hand halting her movement.

Maan eyed toward the clock. She instead looked at his hand around her wrist and he let go of her hand instantly. It wasn't the first time he held her hand but the awkwardness was.

He grabbed his bag lying on table

"look at the time" and began packing his bag. "Mummy pareshan ho rahi hongi…

..Time ka pata hi nahi chala.. tu sun rahi hain na"

Huh? Haan

Maan left her room but she remained in the same position.

Geet!

Rano called her seeing her so late at night eating something.

"Mummy" she whispered under breath and stood scared like her mother caught her reading a love letter. Earlier at the night time when Maan left she didn't feel like having anything. When her stomach growled she found the pasta which must had been prepared for Maan.

Her mouth does not produce gallons of saliva on sight of plain white pasta, Maan's favourite. She wanted to feel what pleases his taste buds.

"Bhookh lagi hain...kuch bana de"

Rano didn't ask her why she was eating pasta when she doesn't like it. Being the youngest of her children Geet didn't eat everything served on plate. Her poor child has been eating khichdi for so many days. And today instead of demanding any spicy delectable food item she had been eating blunt pasta.

Geet shook her head denying her offer.

A smile curved Rano's lip.

"Jo usse acha lage tumhe bhi acha lage, yeh jaruri toh nahi"

Rano patted her back and left.

Fabulous Update

Maan still with Geet when dinner time arrives

but it seems like the two just been together felt content

however when Maan held Geet's wrist today there was awkwardness

and I feel bad for them because as friends they were always free

but now it seems like Maan is more conscious about his acts

wow Geet eating bland pasta

its rather sad that the atmosphere has changed in Khurana family lives

and it seems like Maan has suddenly grown up no longer doing the stuff

he enjoyed to do
