I felt Raghav today... In previous 10 years, I think he mustâve tried to explain himself a lot and is done doing that. For once he want people, whoâre so important to him, to try and ask him for once that âWhy?â
He just feels that they donât care enough, because when we do, we actually try to seek answers to our âwhyâ instead of hurling accusations.
With Pallavi, she doesnât know him that well... Agreed. Then again I think I heard him say âHadnât you been caught in that shooting, youâd have fairly won, so I thought...â At that time all he needed was an explanation about where he went wrong.
The explanation didnât mattered to Pallavi, the intentions were trivial... All mattered was right and wrong... And Raghav was conveniently categorisedđ„ș
Totally agree with you. He just had enough and the loneliness is a heavy weight that is crushing him. The one person he had that banter with is back again on opposite sides of the fence, even though he had tried his best to protect her from Lion. I think his hurt today was almost as deep if not deeper than in that scene where he sobs at home after his mother refuses to let him pay respects to his late father and brother. Sais was brilliant in that scene.
He sent his Amma and sister away to protect them, almost got killed himself while worrying for their safety, but no one seemed to worry for him, or think about his wellbeing. The one who did, seemed to turn against him today. He's just mad at the world in general, and the level of anger he has this time for Pallavi is different from the the initial days, where it was more about his ego and stubbornness. This time he is hurt about being misunderstood by yet another person who he may not consider 'special' just yet, but who he does care about and genuinely wanted to help. Not only that, he felt she was deserving of that award because he had it in her to win. He had no malice or ulterior motive when he decided to help her, yet it backfired on him.
I am really glad he told Pallavi his thought process about the competition and his belief that she had been deserving. Yet when she ticked him off, he threw all that back in her face by negating her abilities and trying to make her feel worthless, hitting her where he knew it hurt most .She will think back to his words later on when she tries to piece together the puzzle that is Raghav Rao. He doesn't understand the challenges she faces but when he will, his entire perspective will change about her nature and her ongoing struggles. How she is imprisoned by the words and emotions of an underserving 'family', how her heart longs to soar and travel the skies, and how her surroundings chain her to the ground. I see her as a little chick trying to learn to fly, who is aware that life is uncertain but that she must try if she is to survive.
He is a smart, considerate man and has seen enough of Pallavi to be unable to dismiss her that easily. She is there on his subconscious and often conscious mind. Farhad saw it and realized what was going on with both of them and squirming through the whole thing. He knew that his Anna was starting to throw away the only good thing that had started to happen in his life but he also knew that the hurt in Raghav, especially after the clash with Keerti, was boiling over. It had to come out, there was no other way. And as they say, we often take our anger out on those with whom we feel we can, and he did.
Raghav's does have a bad temper but I don't think he was always like this. In flashbacks, he appears to have been a sweet young boy. He probably made a mistake out of naivety or the brashness of youth, but never meant for all that those things to happen. The encounter with Keerti drove home the point that while he does miss his mother terribly, he also missed his one and only sister, one he would've doted on and pampered, whose every happiness he had tried to take care of as she was growing up. Gives me Agneepath vibes. Seeing her supposedly 'dating' someone else, potentially someone special and not knowing about it really upset him. It made him feel even more of an outsider that he was not privy to such a major thing in his life, which he took out on Akash of course.
Often when we have issues with our parents, our siblings can be our biggest allies and the bridge between us and the parents. Raghav gets none of that, and Keerti not only doesn't look up to him as her big brother, she doesn't seem to care for him. At least, that's what it appears to him - we know she does care a whole lot and feels worried for him. That momentary concern on her face when she heard his life was in danger, made it quite obvious that she loves him and worries for him. I think when Keerti was growing up and seeing her mother suffer, it built up a lot of anger and resentment in her towards her brother because whether or not she blamed him for losing half her family, she saw her mother's pain all these years. As her mother ages, she must worry what would happen to her when she is all alone in the world. Match this with Raghav's frustration that she needn't feel insecure, that he was there to protect her and look after her, and fulfill his duties as an elder brother would, almost as a father figure in the absence of her father. The other sibling he had is no more and she is all he has after his mother. But all she does is ignore him and tell him to stay out of her life. I have younger siblings and I can imagine how much that hurts.
I think Pallavi is going to get into major trouble and he will be torn between his determination to make her life hell vs. his innate generosity towards people, especially one who has saves his life, like her. It won't be about his ego, rather he will be afraid to trust in case he gets hurt again, because today a part of him felt that Pallavi had betrayed his trust but accusing him of ill intent when he had none. Likewise, Pallavi was upset because she expected he would know better what would hurt her. She brought all her baggage from the Deshmukh circus, I mean taunt, sessions and dropped them like hot coals on him instead of showering him with thank yous.
Raghav may have said it in anger but it's true, Pallavi ka man uske ghar mein nahin lagta, issi liye woh kabhi bhi Raghav ke ghar jaati hai. If only he knew how toxic the atmosphere in her home was that drove her to the house of someone like him... She feels more at home in his home than in her home.
PS I'm seriously thinking about getting a tire and hammer for my room, great to take your anger out, and Sai/Raghav is a sight to behold bashing that tire in anger.
