Popular TV shows that are now streaming on OTT platforms

Mumbai: A couple of years back when the popular TV soap Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka moved to OTT, the audience thought that it was a one-off thing. Lately, however, a host of television shows have followed suit.
Popular shows such as Jamai Raja, Ishq Mein Marjawan and Qubool Hai have ditched the tube for the digital screen. Actor Karan Singh Grover, who stars in Qubool Hai 2.0, said the content will be edgier on OTT.
"For an actor, it has nothing to do with the platform but, yes, it is an easier way for everyone to watch. There is a wider range of content that is being made for OTT. A lot of it might not be suitable for the TV-watching audience in all the metros and the other cities as well. There is a lot that can be shown on OTT that TV might not want to dive into and vice versa," said Karan.

Actress Surbhi Jyoti, who shares the screen with Karan in the show Qubool Hai 2.0, said content has to be fast-moving and gripping when it comes to OTT. "Qubool Hai has 10 episodes on OTT. In TV, it doesn't happen that way, we have to show one episode every day for half an hour. The story has to be crispier in an OTT show. People have the option that if they don't like an episode, they can stop watching the show and switch to something else," she said.

Karan Singh Grover and Surbhi Jyoti are back as Asad and Zoya in Qubool Hai 2.0 on ZEE5, and the fans of the couple have not been able to stay calm ever since. With the series bringing a lot more twists and intrigue to their story, it is being very well-received by the audience and the critics alike. They have been showering their praises for the plot, the chemistry between Karan and Surbhi, and the performance of the cast of Qubool Hai 2.0. Take a look at some of the Qubool Hai 2.0 reviews.
The Times of India rated the show 3/5 and praised the plot and direction. The review read, “Helmed by Ankush Mohla and Glen Barrett, this 10-part series is an entertaining romantic drama. Mrinal Abhigyan Jha has written this story in such an intriguing way that every episode ends with a cliff-hanger, thus, making the viewers binge-watch the subsequent episodes.”

The TellyChakkar website rated it 3/5 stars, while also praising the performances, the chemistry between Asad and Zoya, and the show’s background music. The review read, “The performances of the leads are a treat to watch, and the chemistry between Asad and Zoya is amazing. A special mention should be made to the background music of the show, which enhances your viewing experience at every point. The action scenes covered in the show are good to watch. Moreover, the twist in the plot is executed well and will keep you hooked to your seat.”
Indian Express also wrote about the performances of the actors, while mentioning the highlights of Qubool Hai 2.0.
