Okay,so this is observation and related thoughts which I wanted to clear and know your opinions on.

Well,do you all remember the promo after Sairat marriage, the one with aakhir kya kam hai Sai ki zindagi mein.

Well,in that promo, it showed Sai, that why is Sai still not happy after her maariage. Even though she has a supportive husband, a respected(lets not talk about this one) family and also a dream. Then still why is all this light still equivalent to darkness.

Ek accha pati,

Izzatdaar parivaar,

Aur uska ek sapna bhi hai.

Par phir bhi kuch kam sa hai, aakhir kya kami hai Sai ke zindagi mein.

This last line,it was shown that Virat and Sai are only in that frame, and Sai hesitates to apply the sindhoor. And Virat walks away, and it plays asking what is missing in Sai's life.

What exactly did it signify? That Sai has lost her freedom or I felt that she has that sindoor(Virat) but she cannot claim rights on him as it is shown he walks away. So,does it mean absence of Virat in a partial way is equivalent to darkness in her life. Was is dissatisfaction.

I do want to know your opinions on this. What were your thoughts of this promo.

P.S.:Sorry ,if something similar was already posted❤

For me it means that, from outside she has the perfect family and everything one could wish for. But what she doesn’t have “according “ to her is the Haq of a wife, the freedom or right to love her husband freely without any conditions.

according in air quotes because this is her perspective on how she feels in the marriage and not the actual reality because in reality Virat has already started or atleast wants to give her the Haq.

Hope it makes some sense

Tbh I felt it was Plain patriarchy! Saying without a husband woman is incomplete. Ek chutki sindoor ka kimat kya jaane hum! 😜

On the story front it was shown to convey to the audience all is not well between the husband and wife, here Sairat.

ikr? I mean we were supposed to sympathise with her and connect with her lost love. In Bengali version Pakhi character did get sympathy.

Oh ,yeah ,a part of me thought so too, that it why I wanted it clear. That completeness, where she has a husband but not complete rights,I felt like that.

Exactly, kisne socha hoga,ki didi ki iss kadar beizzati hogi nahi

Cuz if the character was portrayed correctly ,this fits perfectly for didi.

She didn't have the right of being his wife.

Their marriage didn't have love, the sense of belonging, the expectations of a man and wife, they're with each other but were not close to each other a man and wife should be. He was her guardian but not husband. She was his responsibility but not wife.

It means her husband even if was with her, wasn't hers. He was still a stranger, or more of a guardian not a person to love or person who will love you.
