Hi Everyone!

This is literally just ramblings of why I love this show. Honestly, it seems like all i do all day is wait for the next episode to drop, which I haven't done with a show since I was a teenager. So I thought I'd make a list lol

1. The actors off screen masti/support- This shouldn't be as big of a deal for me as it is, I know we should have a clear line between Real and Reel. But for some reason, I've always found myself gravitating to shows who's leads and cast members get along so well. It helps me enjoy the show on another level. KV and Deba getting along so well makes me incredibly happy and not only that, they LOVE being on this show and they continuously promote it! There's something about caring about a show, giving it your time and energy when you know that the actors you grow to love and support care just as much. And its the whole cast too! They all seem so supportive.

2. The leading couple's chemistry- I mean this hardly needs any explanation but I'll say it anyways... these two are absolute FIRE together. They sizzle the screen you guys. I remember in the early episodes when they hadn't even had scenes together, Anokhi ran into Shaurya in the hallway and he looked at her. I knew instantly that those two were going to be magic together. KV and Deb have such a way of acting off of each other and they compliment each other very well. Every scene they're in together...there's just this underlying tension that is naturally there. When it comes to a romantic pairing, I very much believe that the audience should be able to see the attraction between them without it having to be told/written outright. Its insane how much romantic energy they are able to exude without it being in your face.

Which brings me to...

3. The Romance- this is a big one. I watch things mainly for romance. I dropped off of ITV because, while I love romance, I started hating the 10 min eye-locks, the wind in the hair and the unnaturalness of it all. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy them, but there is line between just enough and excessive and it seemed like every show I was watching at the time was leaning more on the excessive side. This show... I don't even know where to begin. Their romance flows, it makes sense. Its natural and easy. I SEE how Shaurya is falling in love! The way he lingers but doesn't realize. The way she's confused and naive. The easy touches and awkwardness. Its so fun to watch!

4. The characters- Mainly Shaurya and Anokhi of course.

Oh Shaurya. I just adore this character. I haven't seen a male character with this much complexity before. He's infuriates me and then he completely charms me. My heart goes out to him because when all the adults made decisions in his life, they didn't think about how it would traumatize the four year old boy who's entire world turned upside down when his mom left. He fights his feelings so hard because he is terrified of being hurt. The way he is with Anokhi makes me swoon. I know some will say that he's toxic or that what he's done is unforgivable (saying those things to Anokhi) and I disagree. Obviously he's a world class idiot who needs to be put in his place, and Miss Bhalla is doing a great job with that right now lol. But I understand him, I sympathize with him. Thats more than I can say for other ITV Male leads. But we won't go into that. i

And Anokhi. She surprises me on every turn! Her fire and passion for her goals and her refusal to forgive Shaurya. She's not mahan, she doesn't put others first. She put herself first. She disobeyed her father, ran away to avoid getting married. She is firm in her beliefs and I love that about her. I feel so sad for her, she's been through so much in so little time. She needs a hug lol. Maybe Shaurya...okay so I'm getting ahead of myself lol

5. THE SONG- you know which one. I'm obsessed with it. It fits them so well. I cannot wait till they release the full version!!!

Now, tell me why you love the show!! Sorry, i know this is a long ass post haha

This post encapsulates my feelings so well!

I'm not particularly fond of the romance that is fed on ITV, but somehow there is a freshness in ShaKhi, in the way their romantic sequences are written and executed. Of course, you can't escape the ITV tropes, but its just the right amount here and somehow does not leave you feeling cringey.

I like how the characters, not only Shaurya, but also Anokhi, Astha and Shaan are not uni-dimensional. There is so much potential in these characters and I'm eager to see the growth of each of them and their interlinked dynamics.

Tbh as far as writing is concerned and keeping in mind the standards of ITV, I think that the writers of this show have done a pretty good job in handling some major tracks.

Major credits to the actors, all of them live their characters❤️

Beautiful post❤️

Totally agree with all that you said!

1: Offscreen camaraderie is big for me too. The last cast I followed that showed this much support of each other was the IPKKND cast.

2, 3 & 5: ShaKhi's chemistry is gold! Even in the simplest scenes, KV and Deb bring the fire. Like you mentioned, they act off each other. I like their lighter scenes. The hair cutting scene and party lights scene are probably my favorites to date. The quick dialogues and their own way of conversing with each other. As for their romance, my favorite part is that it's not dragged out. So far, they all tend to last a short period of time before the awkwardness sets in. I'm also over the 10 minute eye locks and the thousand trip and falls that ITV produces....the standard Ekta/Gul type shows. And that sooooong....I love it too! I'm don't understand punjabi so I had to look up the translation for those parts. The song really describes ShaKhi well. "Darta hai tu kyu parindey, khuda ko hai khayal tera"

4. The characters across the board works for me. Shaurya is complex and in need of love. Anokhi is independent and wants to be self-sufficient. I can't wait to see these loggerheads! I also really like Aastha and Shaan's story...wish we got to see more of it. For evil people, I like Devi and Tej. I hope they bring back the Bhallas too.

Shaan and Aastha are a great secondary couple to the show lol! I’m rooting for them too which is odd cause we never really have to worry about if any of the parents will end up together! I’m also missing babli and the DJ.

I had a post not too long ago asking for the song translation and a lovely member translated it entirely! Try to find or i can try to send it to you!

I can't wait for Babli to leave Vineet and runaway with Vicky!! That will take a load off of Anokhi too. I really enjoy the sisterly relationship too. After KV, Deb's best scenes are with Falaq for me.
