Ashu knows and recognizes his mistake, how his actions alienated his family. He's willing to admit and make amends for them. Like I said before, his mom's forgiveness came easily, he had to work harder for his sister's.

I think they all sense it. Remember Jai telling Ryan ages ago that he did not think Ian was right for her and that she was staying with him only out of a sense of duty?

And Ma realizes it too. You can tell from her gentle advice to Sara to find a good man who loves her and makes her happy. I think deep down she senses it too and hopes Sara will realize it sooner rather than later.
