I'm not sure about the Bengali version, but I looked at the Malayalam version, and they really hype the family drama a bit more. And the machismo of the male lead is more accepted. It isn't sold as just for younger people....even the opening montage has the Shaan/Aastha counterparts with the Shaurya/Anokhi characters. The one change I also noticed in Malayalam is the principal of the school is Badi Ma too....so she has more power. Also, I'm very superficial in my watching and I think KV and Deb look much prettier onscreen to me.

Same with Mohor. The family drama and college drama ruined the love story. Comparatively in SAAKK, both Shaurya and Anokhi receive screentime and have a strong screen presence. For now, they are focussing on the lead characters than the family here and I hope this continues to be the case
