At first I thought so too, but Garima kept calling him "Lucky paaji" and I was like, uh yeah, that's def not happening 🤣 he was cute though, had a fun energy.
Re: Vikram, did anyone else think his departure was a bit abrupt/cliched? Obvs it was bc the actor was leaving, but I was disappointed that after all that mooning after him, Garima's reaction to his betrayal wasn't that strong. I def didn't want her to pine over him forever but after like half an ep she never thought about him again...I guess if the actor had stayed in the villain role then maybe there'd have been more from Garima's reaction. I suppose they just wanted to move on and forget he existed. But yeah...that was my only gripe.
Good that Garima won't be the lovestruck one this time...it would have been too repetitive and it also doesn't fit where her character's at right now. She's so not focused on men (except in the sense of dismantling the patriarchy) right now 👍🏼
It didnt help that the instagram accounts were calling him as 'new entry' and tagging Sahil Phull. Lmao I was so confused trying to match the faces 😆. Lucky was cute but I just couldnt see how they could build him up Garima. Despite the whole girls' night wear angle in Hathi Bazaar, I couldnt see much substance in the character, especially not when paired with Garima. I see that potential with Agni.
Vikram's departure WAS cliched. The character had an abrupt 180 degree turn due to the exit. It would have been easier for him to be good and gone as some fans were saying. But I guess unless he was antagonized, there couldnt have been closure for him in regards to Garima's feelings. It had to be something as drastic to get his chapter to close for good and open Garima's eyes.
All that said, they still had added some poignant touches that I noticed. They didnt completely darken him and outright villainize him. If they wanted to, his return can be open. Did you see how his emotions shifted a bit when he saw how impacted Garima was (as were others in the Bazaar actually) AND when she confessed her love for him. He was moved by that and seeing her broken made him want to reach out. The part of me that rooted for Vikrima felt that. ALSO, Humari Adhuri Kahaan ALWAYS gets me 🥺. But Sushima was love. The way Sushila held Garima offering hee silent support. Like you say.. *chef's kiss*
As to Garima's reaction to that. Yeah. Considering how much she was pining for Vikram, it did feel like the pangs of the betrayal were short lived. Its probably the writers just wanting to wind the exit up asap. They did tie it up with Gunnu's arc though. Used that to bring up the parallel - her love for Vikram vs her love for hairdressing. Vikram leaving didnt impact her as much as the thought of her never being able to continue her work as a barber did. So there is that. Now it'll be once bitten, twice shy. Which is good imo as well. No repetition and makes for a better depth to the new pair.
