@blue I think it was not about chaheeti bahu title (which as you rightly pointed out Pakhi was yet to win) but rather Virat's confidence in Pakhi's 'maturity quotient'. He had full faith that being a mature person, she could guide 'immature', 'moophat' Sai in mellowing down her tone.

Like Sai said..aur koi nahi mila tha usko.. Sai ko guide karne k liye.. that dialogue delivery with a straight face..Ayesha nailed it😆

Yeah...I remember that dialogue now.... This man - he wants to have his cake and eat it too. Phew! Both Pakhi and Sai should have caught one of each of his ear and given it a hard tweak....😆

I think when he spoke to each one of them about it individually the first time.. they were both mighty pissed... Just that Pakhi wants to please Virat at any given opportunity by doing even what her heart doesnt demands.. so she goes with it and Sai wants to be liked for what she is..Cannot create a fake image of hers.. So she denied as she was not okay with the idea..

it is not that ... virat to be fair has not been seeking pakhi ki company .. after she came back from

Mayka .. to be specific he saw sayi flirting with Amey ..

Before that he had put sayi in kiddy zone ..and vahini was desirable and mature..

But one phone conversation of baby baby muah muah.. he knows what his teen wife is capable of..

That was the moment he completely lost interest in Pakhi .. and stopped making gooey eyes to her ..

he is fond of Pakhi as she’s now Samrat ki wife ..

he feels bad for her .. and feels he should support her as a friend ..

Neil has done a fantastic job of conveying this with his real life partner .. you don’t feel the interest of Virat towards Pakhi which was clearly observed during the marriage episodes ..

But unfortunately he has failed to convey this to sayi .. she feels he is straddling both boats .. even Pakhi has somewhat understood this and is becoming more n more vitriolic towards sayi ..

She remembers that Virat did not stand up for her during wedding but is going out of the way .. to support sayi and becomes more triggered about it ..

Virat by insisting both become friends is a way if giving support to pakhi .. just like she has bonded with Devyani , Shivani .. he feels his other half can take care of pakhi too ..

with samrat gone he likes taking the mantle of the elder son of the house and wants sayi to adjust to this ..

in all the family poojas he is comfortably doing everything never has he looked back feeling guilty at pakhi .. oh this could have been you with me .. compare that with his guilt during getting married ..

Amey track was the track which opened virat ka blinds properly..

Loved your take on that. It's true. He thought it would be good if Patralekha initially supports Sai and then also finds support in Sai... I agree that they Amey track opened up his actual pitara of the insecurity of losing Sai's attention and also what she was capable of (and desires) in a relationship... But he had already drifted away from Patralekha in many ways during the drama she did when she left the house. He stopped watching her with gooey eyes right after that incident. And went gooey for Sai the moment he learnt that Sai went to get Patralekha back for 'him' (as in the vaada she made).

The Amey incident happened on a day he was already titling towards Sai (and away from Vahini) due to the chilli grinding drama. He excused himself from DIG's drinks party to have dinner with 'wife'. He already wanted to give her the attention that she told Amey she wasn't getting and that actually ticked him off even more. Plus Patralekha cut out a sorry figure just before that phone call by not siding with one of the Ghar ki Badi Shivani just because she wanted to oppose Sai... And then came soooh sweeet, baby baby, muah muah... 💔🥺😅

Also to answer to asmi's post above: I don't think he wanted them to be friends only for his own migraine issues. He genuinely thought they would get along and there will be maturity-exchange... That they would find friends in each other to tide through their own situations and of course not be baying for his blood in turns ... Kuch jyada ummeed thi usko... 😅 And it was founded in his ignorance/insensitivity to what the two women were going through right the day after the wedding. He did not think Patralekha was a chaheeti bahu because she kept complaining to him about being troubled and lonely while he was away and kept asking him to come and help her like he was her husband... So he did not think she was in a very comfortable position but by the virtue of being a chosen bahu of the family, he knew she would enjoy some perks that Sai wouldn't get right away (also Sai needed to learn the art of diplomacy aka Maturity in his dictionary). And he couldn't think of anyone better than Patralekha to do it selflessly thinking of her as a "friend".

@msin No, no When I said "he wants to have the cake and eat it too", I'm not saying that he was straddling two boats. We were talking about why he wanted Pakhi to guide Sai. He did not do it with any wrong intention - he genuinely believed that Pakhi's influence will help Sai in becoming more mature. The bonus was that if they became friends he will not have the headache of playing referee or taking sides. So it was a typical man thing to want all favourable situations - he goes about taking responsibility for Sai, gets Sai a mentor to deal with his family and saves himself the trouble of facing any unpleasantness between the two women. But this whole idea was actually very impractical and he was not being sensitive to either Pakhi or Sai. He was trying to get two (or three) favourable (to him) things to happen with one stroke - things that was not possible to have together. So it was in that context that I used the phrase "he wants to have the cake and eat it too". Did I use the phrase wrong?

Yes the college admissions.. and she building the fort .. started tilting him towards her .. During the chat Wala date .. he definitely was the besotted hubby ..He enjoys her company.. He is the one who seeks it more than him.. sayi is the typical ITV bahu .. more than a Med student who’s more interested in ghar ka politics..even her MIL tells her go and focus on ur studies .. but usey ghusna hai .. virat would have loved it if she had focused on him more .. then the whole family..

But then he did understand Sai's concerns right.. He did understand Sai's feelings about the two of them.. Still he did not chose to address them the next day and tried to say dosti kyu nahi karti Pakhi se.. when he said to Pakhi tumhara sach main nahi jaanta he did not eradicate the probability of what Sai said about Pakhi being true right..And he said it when he saw the expecting eyes of Pakhi..So somewhere he does know Pakhi still loves him..and yet gives her a benefit of doubt that she would be fine.. Probably because he attributes her still sticking to him to her loneliness and believes once Samrat will be back she would be over him just like he was over her after being with Sai..SO being a good man and a family man he doesnt really want to go that way to reprimand Pakhi as it spoils the equation..turns it ugly and in joint family one cant few people being acrimonious to each other..and also his bhabhi's character being questioned in someway..

.She did say to Sai main shadidhuda hun ..aisa kuch bhi mat bolo jisse mere charitra par daag lage.. So Virat actually believes in this.. Pakhi just shows off..

Anyway coming back to the scene.. do you think Virat knows Pakhi is in love with him and ignoring it..And why did he not speak to Sai about not loving Pakhi anymore.. No NO..I am not in favour of him going and telling her this marriage is no more a deal.. that could be kept for later..when he has understood his and her feelings thoroughly (he failed in nibba nibbi love case), but at least he can tell her that there is no such thing between him and Sai.. Clear his stance..so that she doesn't dare question his character.. "Dosti k aad mei chipna" is nothing but questioning his character...Also I did not understand his stance on "gharwale using him for keeping Patralekha involved usko behlaane k liye istemaal karte hain"..I guess he did not believe that part of it in that scene.... but during Shivratri he was with Sai when she said "agar patralekha hoti meri jagah toh aap kehte dost hai dost hai..ek dusre ko khana hi khila rahe hai"..he did that "exactly wala" expression.. So i am confused there also.... Sai I can at least understand..Virat keeps confusing me.. 😔

Yaha bhi zara kripa barsa dijiye 🤗

yes he’s a typical man ,. He has completely forgotten the amount of idiotic promises he made during samrat wedding .. I M just revisiting those episodes .. he played the devdas quite well there .. wearing blue suit , yellow suit .. he dances well..

Since he has forgotten... he feels pakhi should forget too .. she is his friend ..and sayi ki sister in law both should bond over and forget the matter ..
and sayi should not even question it .. because that’s an old syllabus
