It was irritating to see him constantly repeating it.. And then the moment Sai said I will go.. He has not said it from then..So coming back to the question, Sai wanted to know who the girl was if not Pakhi and he kept mum...I dont know what was it..disappointment in Sai or something else.

I do find Virat manipulative..Two instances....his insistence on Sai to be take training from Pakhi was a manipulative one to keep both Sai and Pakhi together and he wont have to get into choosing between the two.. And teh biggest manipulation of all time was the one where he kind of insinuated that whatever work she does at home is similar to what she would do at her hostel..after the whole chilli grinding incident.. Him comparing the abuse to a challenge that she can encounter in life..

@bold He is lying to avoid answering these tough, uncomfortable questions especially considering Pakhi is his brother's wife. Somebody in the forum pointed out that he is an opportune liar - when he is faced with a tricky situation he cannot handle. In this scene, I don't believe he was being manipulative.

@red Oh yes. He is manipulative sometimes. The best example is throwing Sai the challenge that you mentioned.

I don't understand why he wanted Pakhi to guide Sai. Pakhi being the 'matured' bahu could help smooth Sai's raw edges (although it was extremely insensitive of him to do so). @blue Was that the reason...I am kinda confused about this one.

No no..just a thought that came in my mind when i saw those episodes again.. I could not come up with a reason as to why would he want Pakhi to do that.. By that time the family was not doing the Pakhi bahu best hai jaap also...otherwise i would have thought he wants the family to love Sai like Pakhi so lets get her inspired by Pakhi.. He had not even spent 24 hrs in the house with Pakhi being around.. So why would he want Sai to be trained and also helped in studies by Pakhi.. What would Pakhi help Sai with.. I mean for us even helping someone in their 11/12th with kind of mathematics and physics they study is difficult. You forget everything even when you come from that PCMB background..so logically how would have Pakhi helped Sai... SO insensitive he was being to both the women..It all looked so sudden when during the night conversation he suddenly mentioned to Pakhi can you help Sai when she was asking what am I in your life ...

Agreed. He was being very insensitive. I once thought that by asking Pakhi to guide Sai, if he was getting (forcing actually) Pakhi to accept their respective roles (she - Samrat's wife ; he - with a 'zimmedari' wali wife). But even that I'm not sure. Bahut confusing banda hai. Only Janki can understand his psychology.

I feel the same a lot of times when I'm trying to figure out his actions.... Janki has done PhD on Virat Chavan. And she is the only expert capable of deciphering this complicated man...

Sai tells him that she did not really want to come to the trip with him. This triggers his insecurity and rejection phobia so much that whatever revealing statements Sai makes after that goes unregistred/only partially registered (regarding how his pyarosti is affecting their marriage). He just misconstrues it as Sai throwing hurtful statements regarding Virakhi (especially considering that Pakhi is now his brother's wife) because she is angry at the morning fiasco.

@bold: for the trip, wasn't it Virat's responsibility to question Pakhi why she was so much against Sai coming along with them? Why did she object to it? her behavior was atrocious and there was no reason for it. aise mein how can Sai think ke Virat and Pakhi are friends only? isi liye use and hume dost shabd se chid si ho gayee hai 😂

abhi wale episode mein jab swing per bhi yeh baat aayee, he stopped as if he has done something wrong in bringing up the topic. should he not have questioned to Pakhi on her behavior?

@ bold Well exactly.. even if one is friend one would max say pehle bata dete.. But then would not go to an extent of cancelling the trip and misbehaving with the wife.. Questioning her intention on "wanting to go on a trip with her husband"... Virat just gave her shocked looks..most of the times does just that..Even Aai asked her to clarify her stance there..because it has given people a reason to doubt her.. And thats how one would doubt...considering waada.. samjhauta.. pati dharm nahi nibha paunga...and then this whole incident of tearing off the tickets, wont Sai think they are lovers...with Virat trying to curb it down because of his value and Pakhi unable to do so..

Recently Sonali kaku wale incident mein bhi he was quite....

One more scene that bothered me w.r.t. Sonali kaku was..when the moment Sai enters in saree in ladakh episode, teh way she asked her go clean the utensils and cook food.. as if she is a hired maid of the house.. so demeaning and so atrocious.. The tone and the words were extremely disrespectful towards the eldest bahu of the house..Yes Sai is the eldest Bahu of Chavan Family.. then again Virat just gave a look..and when Aai mentioned she has done all that, he was proud.. I did not want him to be proud about Sai for doing this..but wanted him to question Kaku, why is she entitled to do it.. Just one line could have been included there in that episode.. Makers promote DIL abuse with such scenes and with ML just giving a look or sighing.. Kaku said I will break your legs..he says Kaku..Sai brings a stick for kaku to beat her..he says Sai jyada din tak nahi reh paaogi agar yehi rawaaiyaa raha gharwalo ki taraf.. I mean was that rawaiyaa worse than what Kaku said with no one around to question her statement..no ache ghar k bade said a thing.. instead smriked..
