When that episode aired people were mad at Virat. Let's agree he doesn't love Pakhi anymore because she is his brother's wife and he too has started liking Sai but he lied about Virakhi being in love during the yoga resort track. Actually both Virakhi act weirdly. Kabhi hum sirf dost hai toh kabhi hum pyaar karte the.

Sai builds her wall for Virat when Virat doesn’t defend her in front of pakhi.. she feels he loves pp which is far from the truth, yes initially there was attraction between pp and virat (we know pp still loves him) but Virat has moved on. It is his inability to express his feeling that gets the best of him, he wants the other person to understand what he is feeling and trying to say!! Like forum members have mentioned gol gol jalebi!

Virat is not manipulative, in the scene with Sai he lied to get out of the uncomfortable situation, he didn’t know that Sai would confront him with these straight forward questions.

He had moved on from pakhi long ago.

Rewatching the scene .. he did not lie . He was talking about his current feelings not about the past . He was right as he had moved on .

Just like he was very clear to Sai that he was committed to someone else, he actually spoke about it to her, he needs to tell her in words, he considers Pakhi his brother's wife only and nothing more.

Problem is both are having fear of rejection. Sai thinks that should she decide to open her heart, it will not be fully reciprocated because she feels Virat will never get over Pkahi. So she builds a wall around her heart - so as to not get hurt. Virat senses the wall and thinks that Sai doesn't appreciate what he does for her and is indifferent towards him. So perfect recipe for MU.

Honestly, I am not sure why Virat is being given leeway on that. He clearly lied about his and Pakhi history. It was simple to come clean and tell that it was in the past instead of outright denying it. Are his feelings conditional ? Only if Sai responds accordingly, he will tell her her started liking her else no ?

If Sai doesn't like him, it's because of his own words of being committed to someone else.

It was a clear truth and one cannot get around it unless the person saying it takes back his words.

In Virat's mind however, Sai is a girl who was against marrying him. She had asked him to rum away rather than spoil her life by marrying her. So I don't think he has registered that Sai is holding herself back because of the vaada. He thinks she is just indifferent towards him. He keeps looking for positive reactions to his actions...which will assure him that his step towards her will not be rejected.
