@green Kudos to the observation "....look of suspicion". Adds a slight intrigue/interest to the scene.
@red Oh, so Virat does understand that Bhavani is cold-hearted and has little love for Devyani(though unaware of her capacity for evil)? I did not think that way - considering how he keeps harping about dil-ke-ache log in his family. And why does he seek her approval so much then considering she is cold-hearted - I can understand if she was his parent or even a grandparent, but she is not. And he has got a perfectly sweet mother.
@blue I agree completely. Virat will change his stand if provided with solid proofs.
I completely agree that one would not suspect his/her family to be capable of evil.
Well, Virat's entire body language was very clear that he was himself distressed at learning about Pulkit being a "fraud". As much as he didn't want to believe it, he had no choice and of course he was feeling bad for Devyani and also Sai - while also being a bit upset with her for not giving in to his 'investigation'.
Yes, I do think he's pretty aware of how vain Bhavani is. He knew it all along right from the first episodes where he is shown pacifying his mother with his gestures after heaping almost 'pretentious' praise on his Kaku and of course now when he's been at the receiving end and seen her ill-treating Sai and Mohit. He still believes she is not inherently bad but outwardly strict -- it is natural because we cannot see the 'evil' in those with who we have blood ties and have overall lived a satisfactory life due to the conditioning. It won't be so easy for him to call toxic, toxic. It happens in real where families pass off their rigid and archaic ideas as 'customs and values'. Not everyone thinks of it as "toxic" unless something shattering happens. So, when he learns the truth about Devyani, he might actually have a reason to call her toxic.
That is why I think Sai's entire approach in this matter has been very thoughtless. She should have insisted on having proofs, sealing the gaps. She went with impulse despite knowing and having the intuitive powers of the trouble the Makad gang would cause. If she had insisted with Virat to meet Pulkit and Harini, he would not have denied. The conspiracy would have still happened but at least there would be some kind of information... even now, its illogical that he doesn't even want to hear Pulkit and Sai is also not even reminding him how he should not condemn Pulkit without giving him a chance to defend himself.
