I just caught up with the episode and kind of 'liked' the normal pitched conversations in today's episode (despite the illogical track-- this bracket is going to remain constant😅). There were a couple of moments that really did strike.
So, when did Chavan Saheb buy the toy gun pichkari 😯? Looks like it was purchased even before Sunny's advice of making Holi special for Sai Bhabhi... or Did Sunny already come and handover that toy gun to him😒? Bade vengeful Hain Chavan Saheb and is he in the mood for this already? I kept wondering why he was hiding that gun from her while walking into the room... precap ended the suspense. Bechari dewdrop ne ek Baar kya mazaak banaya, Sir toh seedhe gunpoint wale pranks pe aa Gaye😏 Does it look like Sai is in the mood to enjoy these pranks😬? Pata Chala seedhe haath se gun uda kar Sir ke hi kanpatti pe laga Di😛... We'll see that on Monday.
Aaj toh as expected, the zillat arena scene continued and thankfully, Sai was overwhelmed enough to at least remain silent after throwing that "shaadi karwake rahungi" challenge yesterday at Virat, even when he repeated today "sabke saamne bol raha hoon" that the marriage will not happen.
Virat was "consoled" by the idea that Bhavani gave him her approval with her 'Is ghar ki izzat is ghar ke bete ne hi sare aam nilaam hone se bachayi' (thanks to the a shoddy writing of the plot), followed instantly by the declaration of Holi. Bhavani's anxiety turning into enthusiasm without a thought spared for the heartbreak Devyani was going through was so noticeable.😣
Virat watching Bhavani with those eyes of disbelief and surprise at her sudden change of tone made me wonder if he is really convinced about what he is saying in regard with Pulkit himself😓? There is a part of him that actually cannot believe anything to be true but he's going by the "proof" he has found (thanks to his shoddy investigation skills penned by the writers). Virat could not believe that the entire Chakram gang broke into a celebratory mode for Holi, barely a few seconds after Devyani got a big heartbreak😞. But aadat se majboor, even today he remained silent throughout the jubilant show of the Makad Sena including that obnoxious Vahini bringing in Sai at the available opportunity. He should know his narrowed eyes expression doesn't mean anything to vahini she can't read his face either 😓😓
There was so much angst in that moment between Virat, Sai, Ashwini and Devyani (to an exent Mohit as well). I liked how it was Mohit who went after Devyani to console her -- it was nice to see that.
Of course Devyani's scene with Sai and her imploring Sai to set things right was so heart wrenching... The poor soul, who has been a victim for no fault and found her hope in this God sent angel 👼, who is naturally cornered and she can see that even in her mental condition... Sai can only assure her at the moment but the pledge to Pulkit to get them married.. why Sai why? What's the hurry?
The glance between Sai and Virat at the end of the first scene spoke a lot -- apart from the sadness at the setback in the entire situation, there was a visible disappointment in each other. Both their expectations from one another has been dashed🥺. There was regret, let-down but also this unmissable hint how much they wanted to talk to each other at that moment, may be to question or convince each other, not fight.😔
Naturally, it flowed into their encounter in their private space. It was such a progress to see them "talking", even when they were not in agreement, almost not able to see eye to eye on the issue. Their agitation at the situation was restrained but both of them made attempts to make the other see their point of view. It is a big thing in their largely unstable marriage that they tried to start a conversation -- it has never happened earlier.
Today, they could spend a few minutes "conversing" because it was Sai who wanted to talk and was calm. Usually, in their fights, it is her interruption or dismissal of his talk that leads to an explosion because Virat can't handle her indifference. Because Sai was the one who wanted to attempt to convince him again, she was speaking in measured words and did not try to argue into changing how Virat was feeling -- it is important to use encouraging words to put the point across and she missed that in the zillat arena with the family watching them and allowing the always ready manipulators to poke holes into his ego.
I don't believe this soft conversation will last long because Virat's insinuation of Madhuri and Pulkit having a child together will definitely send Sai into a fit of rage in the continuation of the scene...
It was good to see her trying to reason with him logically about the proofs -- so they speak of Harini in private and he tells her about the grand detection of crime he made in the bank records! I had the same question: What's the big deal about having anyone as the guardian of a minor? Is it proof that the guardian is a biological parent? Does this stand not actually reflect his own double standard in looking at relationships? Is he the same Virat who told Sai right after their wedding about his "best friend" and he having "Duniya ko dekhne ka alag nazariya"... Aap karein toh pyaar, baaki kare toh brashtachar? Wah, Chavan saheb! I actually hope Sai gives him a hurtful reminder of his dubious relationship status with his so-called "dost"... it is much needed at the moment to make him clear the fog on his eyes.
Sai also asked the second question that we have been wanting to ask: "How can you as a police officer just trust a letter that has no address or contact details for verification?" It must have irked him but it is true! How can someone be just written off as 'guilty' without even being given a chance to clarify?
It is futile to say but I cannot help mention: only if they could have had this conversation right in the beginning, figuring out the story and the possible road blocks, doing a background check on the man. Virat's "pachtaava ho raha hai tumhara saath diya" is so misplaced. Just like his "Tum toh Sai Joshi ho, sabko galat aur khud ko Sahi saabit karogi"... Did he not believe in her kaanch padtaal because she can never side with the wrong?? What is wrong with his guy, he's forever walking up on an escalator that's coming downwards 😑😑
He should have the pachtaava for his own inaction at questioning and trying to find out about Pulkit and for not giving his sister's life any thought before jumping on to the Shaadi preparations. He conveniently told Vahini he's going by Sai's instinct and so now he conveniently again tells Sai he's going by the proofs that have come to light, again, without getting into the depth of it.
Also one serious question: What is the problem actually? Is it that Pulkit married someone else when he lost hopes of finding Devyani (and has a daughter, who he claims is Devyani's)? Or is it a problem that he married and turned out to be a wife beater as claimed by Sangeeta Deshpande? Either way, is a "failed marriage"(setting aside accusations of the domestic violence that can be easily examined if needed) a reason to call someone dhokebaaz and unworthy of finding love again? Does Virat subscribe to this view 😧? Or that he has a possible illicit affair with Madhuri -- they live in the same house and call themselves brother and sister but are having an illicit affair i mean, he actually has the brains of his 'true love' who wrote the unbelievably stupid letter that won't last one day on its legs if someone were to really ask five questions to Pulkit's neighbours Is this even a riddle that cannot be solved?
And is he not even considering the possibility that the child could indeed be his sister's? What if it is really his sister's child? Why would Pulkit make such claims knowing his lies would be caught? (There are no DNA tests in Chakram world that the police officer can think of) What could be the reason for a well settled rich doctor to want to avenge this family when he's already moved on and had a supposed marriage and also has an alleged affair with another woman? This is called mind blowing-away logic 🤯! Chavan Saheb is now official in Delusional Didi Ka Commonsense club. Hamari intelligence ki inti beizzati toh aaj tak kisi ne nahi ki, By God Bappa Shappat😑😑😑!
Now, I absolutely don't agree with Sai calling up a very lazy, almost not bothered Pulkit and promising that she will help them unite on Holi! Why oh why? What is the hurry? Why can't she play the typical TV bahu and go about her own investigation and shut the mouths of the chakrams? What is the need to do everything the next minute without putting in any thoughts? Okay, she knows Virat had been misled. He is not opposing the wedding by some design or malice like the rest of the family. She even knows that the family has a role to play in this -- she's not verbalising it but she knows they have had their way. She knows Virat well by now and she knows he will believe what he sees unless he's made to see the other way. She knows she will have to do the work of making Virat see the truth so why can't she take some time and do it? (Phir Ghar Kaise chhodhh Kar jaane Dega Virat, I know I know) it doesn't add up.Let's not even talk about Pulkit. What a lazy unreliable man he's turned out to be. He's not even putting up a fight. No wonder Devyani and he remained separated for 10 years. And Virat certainly said one correct thing in his conversation with Sai -- Pulkit found hope of meeting Devyani only because he met Sai. Otherwise, for a man who knew how much Devyani must have also resisted her own family's pressures to marry him and even bear a child, it is inexplicable why Pulkit assumed she married another man and would be happy? And now he's not only found Devyani but also feels that Sai is the one who can do the work for him while he sits in his reclining chair and reads books while sipping coffee Pulkit's indifference to the emergency situation despite Sai warning him in college is infuriating to say the least. He knows what the Chavans are capable of but he's making no attempt to arm Sai with some thing that can help their case.
But the moment of the day was::
Bhavani calling Susheel bahu Patralekha "makkar"!🤡 It is so true that when we are "friends" with someone, even the abuses hurled in a friendly tone are so acceptable that we almost take it as a compliment. But if someone who we dislike speaks in a tone that is harsh, it is "beizzati!"
Bhavani first says, "Mujhe pata tha tumhara dimaag bohat tez chalta hai" (means: tu bohat chant type ki hai👹) Wah wah Badi Maami and then follows it with "Makkari ko makkari hi kaat sakti hai" (means: tu toh ek number ki makkar hai👺). Naturally Mallika-e-Maturity takes it as a second layer of gold plating on her brass statue and goes hand holding her actual saccha pyaar Kaku with "Maine aapse vaada kiya tha na"...🤑🤓😎 and then the motive: "Main Sai ko har baar apne aap se kaise jeetne de sakti hoon"😖🤬. Please give a round of standing ovation to Venomwali Vahini... no no... not for this dialogue but for that typical vamp-ish look from the corner of the eye she gave Sonali while she was exiting the kitchen.🙄
So it is established that the plan was executed by Vixen Vahini alone 😲(may be with help from her friend as a couple of pals here pointed out)... But Didi obviously lives in delusion. She thinks her "letter" will carry the magical charm forever and no one will ever find out that Sangeeta Deshpande is a non-existent character🤔? Iske liye, one more round of standing ovation🎊👏👏👏.
Obviously, she underestimates the bond that Virat and Sai have forged by now. She definitely knows that Sai will act impulsively (script mein loose plot jo hai) but she would not expect her to marry off Devyani obviously. So, does she actually think that this one letter is enough to keep a misunderstanding and call off Devyani's wedding foever?! Kuch samajh nahi aaya...😉
That Sai will end up marrying off Devyani has not been expected by anyone because they do assume she will do as Virat says in the end -- which is a significant thing that they believe so.
What a scene that was anyway 🤮 the three useless high class bahu's celebrating the heartbreak of the daughter of the house by frying Holi sweets (don't try to calculate how their clock works-- technically, isn't it just two days since Shivratri and Holi is here inke calender me sirf festival wale days hi nikalte Hain 🤏🤏🤏and each day lasts for 7-10 days of normal human life depending upon how much they have spent on their costume.)
The small conversation between Usha Maushi and Sai was good -- she reminding her about the fact that there is her own relationship at stake if she continues to be strong headed and impulsive about it. Sai is not even imagining the consequences of her decision to get Devyani and Pulkit married by hook or by crook-- why? She thinks the family, and even Virat, will take kindly to her making Devyani elope in this mental condition without a single substantial evidence given by that lazy Pulkit? Usha's is a sound advice that Sai should follow -- no lie can last forever. All Virat needs is evidence that Sai can easily collect with a calm mind. It would be so brilliant to see Sai and Pulkit getting a DNA test done on Harini and Devyani (since Sai has access to her) and showing Virat the proof to delve into the Sangeeta matter. How many days would it take for the college to reopen anyway to re-check the employee record and then find the CCTV footage of what went on but ... arrey wait... I began a logcial rant... so ending here!
Ab kyun ki din dhalne ka waqt hai and shaam aa hi gayi hai, I can't help but pen down two lines from one of the evergreen evening melodies:
