I love sairat. Both of the, equally despite flaws. I side with one or the other wherever situation warrants.
why is this couple liked by so many people , when the makers show us the bare minimum in terms of screen space ?
Itâs not out of the world storyline but there is a inexplicable charm surrounding them that we as an audience, forget our hate towards the makers, when they give us Sai and Virat in one screen.
Why do you guys like them ?
The plot has so much potential, but makers seem to put no effort. Especially the Devkit track, it was such a dark, mysterious story of how they separated a couple and a mother daughter. Such an issue should be treated sensitively, but they have made it a joke. Nowadays I find it so irritating, I am like, just get done with their wedding and start separation.
But Sairat's charm has kept me hooked to the show. Both Virat's and Sai's hesitation to speak up is damn relatable. There are many many people who are scared of being vulnerable, both of them yearning for each other, yet unable to say anything, is so beautiful. Personally, I love a slow burn. Most of the time I don't like romantic shows/movies/books because most of them don't really love each other, its just merely attachment. But here Virat and Sai are everyday slowly discovering each other, and loving every bit of each other. Their love is so deep. I don't know how to put it in words. That uncertainty that is there in a new relationship, its there with Sairat as well. There is a certain appeal. We haven't got much scenes of them together, but whatever we have gotten, they are mesmerizing, even the fights too. This is the first time I have fallen so much in love with a tv show couple, the only pair I have ever loved this much was Ron and Hermione from Harry Potter (but again, there it was not marriage centric, its a whole lot of other world).
Few people were annoyed that we did not get dori tying, and falling on bed scenes, and while there is nothing wrong with them wanting those, but personally I love Sairat's dynamics. The whole deal thing is such a lovely plot (in fiction, not in real life). And Virat is such a gentleman, aside from the whole hand holding track, Virat has treated Sai so respectfully. Not once has he tried to invade her personal space in the name of romance. Never has he forced himself on her (not just in a physical way). Virat was right, Sai doesn't read him well, if she did she would know Virat does not love Pakhi. But Sai is right too, the way Virat behaves, its hard to distinguish what actions are zimmedari and what actions are genuinely out of care. Especially after his pyar... dosti slip. Its hard not to see him through one lens.
Never did I think that I would connect so much with the characters of an ITV show
