her presence during the apology scene irked me. It was a moment between mom and son. She has no right to tell him to be sweeter esp if she doesn't know the full story. Just like he doesn't have a right to tell her who she should go with and come with to college.

yesss i agree her presence was unnecessary because if shaurya wanted to open up, her presence there would make it awkward to do so. She is still only his student who doesn't know a lot about him and he clearly isn't ready to show her all his vulnerabilities yet. Imagine he wanted to break down, he would not have felt comfortable doing that with her standing there. She should have given them space so that they could actually talk about their issues. Also he completley closed up again when she interjected. Until then he was slowly taking the mask off but the second she stepped in, it was back up. How can she expect them to resolve their misunderstanding if she doesn't let Aastha speak for herself after Shaurya aired his grievances?
