Hey glad to know Nisha you are feeling better.😘 And you have an update too .

"She assumes everyone in the whole chain is corrupt and willing to do our bidding, and no matter how legit our cause we should give up before challenging it”

Vi is not wrong that the powerful (position/money) do influence outcomes. Ra himself has mused that all it will take will be a phone call to get Vi a teaching position at JNU (which means someone else who was to get it will not).

Regarding their argument. One person beat his wife and other person hit Satyen car - totaled it and got a elderly man in ICU.

Vi thinks Babu crime is intentional so punishable and if the truck driver was not drunk is it a lesser crime and consequences should be ? If Satyen did not make it then ?

Vi is rational, not a rabid liberal but is her prejudice of the rich and fighting for the poor coloring her thoughts ? Law should be fair to all..is that not one of her fights?

Ra (I hope Vi too) knows the two incidents are not comparable...is the real angst "the inequality and not fair opportunities for the weak and poor"

Lovely Nisha..took me a second read to get it 😍.

Reset opinion

Raanav doesn't know how it feels to be thanked. Well Raanav, she may not say it in words, but she does appreciate the concern you show when you look out for her.

She is kind and rational ..my assumption is for her the child would come first and not the rich man. So this will not be bone of contention.

Here given Satyen is well and fully functional..she is going back to her core beliefs. Raanav is driven by the fact that his dad was hurt and in ICU (may not have survived without the care ) and she is ignoring all that to fight for the driver.

The law should be equal. But unfortunately the law also seems skewed towards the rich and privileged. Ambani’s son and Salman Khan can get away because of their position of power and privilege. There are so many other examples. But the opposite doesn’t happen. Harsher punishments maybe given to make an example.

But Raanav is not wrong here to pursue the case for his father. If guilty by law then a person should be punished but I think her concern is the person may not get a fair hand due to the position the Parashar’s come from.

True regarding the Ambanis and Khans and the unfairness of it. But here Satyen did not just get a scratch..he is old and was pretty sick. Law cannot be conditional and selective exactly what she rightfully find it objectionable.

To me the two incidents cannot be compared (Babu and Satyen's accident). This is personal for Ra..she is discounting that this is dad. She should pick her battles to make a difference. This can only go downhill.

Nisha

I just finished reading nonstop on your other story - once upon a midnight. I wanted to applaud you there but the story doesn’t allow anymore comments looks like. You have an amazing talent and knack observing people and writing so well..so many minuscule details and like a everyday conversation..it’s a different talent all together. You write such beautifully about a different world and I would think you were a Punjaban too..👏🏼, but I know you are part of the south.

I hope your job situation is getting better and things around us also is getting better. I can related to so many things you talk about being in the same country.

thank you for indulging us with your beautiful words.

Absolutely, I don’t think Raanav is wrong and the two cases are like comparing apples and oranges. The law should be allowed to take its course. Ideally she should keep out from this, considering like we said before the circumstances under which their marriage itself happened. This is not the time or place for naarebaazi😄 A line from a favorite story of ours comes to mind; “har baat pe aandolan karna zaroori nahi hai”!

True Priya, Viveka should pick her battles wisely.

This is an unnecessary battle she is fighting.

Also one has to remember that Satyen got the best of the treatments to make it.

What if the person who was hit was poor or from middle class, he might not have been able to afford the treatment to even survive.

Then it does not matter if the truck driver was at fault or not, one life would have been lost.
