I think the problem for her is how awkward things could get from here. Matt is her brother's best friend. And her feelings aren't going to disappear just like that. Plus now Matt is also aware. Even though nothing happened there could be a potential for it to happen. She is embarrassed and horrified, but the heart wants what it wants. Whether right or wrong. It would be interesting to explore where this could go if Matt and Naina were indeed to get into a relationship. And whether it would be purely physical (since her reaction to him was), or if there would be emotions involved. And how Nicky would feel about the whole thing. It is a sticky situation but real life has seen worse!

True. He can ask. But the problem here for him is that they're both his friends. And he's known about her being in love with Krish for a while now. Perhaps in his own misguided way, he thinks they have first dibs for each other? Since his own feelings are very new and very raw. And it was just a kiss. He has no reason to think Isha cares for him. If I do decide to write a part 2, perhaps I could explore all of this.

YES to this! Everyone has some pain hidden beneath the surface. That's why it's always better to be kind and empathetic, and not be unnecessarily rude to people.

He probably will. The whole reason he called and asked to meet her is most likely that he wants to propose. He took the time to work hard at his job and settle into a life in the US so he can offer her all the comforts. He was practical in the end, despite all his impulsive behaviour earlier.

Yeah, it's a bit of a twisty ending. In fact, all the fics I wrote have something of a surprise ending, except the last two. OR at least I was gunning for a surprise ending, but readers are very perspicacious! 😊
