There is nothing shown like she cannot get pregnant. Infact today's epi it is just revealed she had a break up.

He doesn’t approve because in his mind Kavya is not a sanskari woman. She was married and cheated on her husband and has turned borderline psycho as of late. Also Nandini parents are divorced. She is independent and lives on her own

Excatly. I think now he realizes that there is big difference between dating and living with woman like Kavya. Samar and Nandani's relationship is natural and pure.

She is from Kavya's family.... never in a millions years did he think his son would fall for anyone from Kavya family...
