That's the thing with Indian sentiments and mentality. We boast about our values and principles, how the young people obey their elders without questioning, but the latter rarely pay heed to what the young generation really wants. Apne social status and auhde ko maintain karne ke liye aisi kitni khwahishen qurbaan hui hai. Kitne sapnon ko kuchalkar yeh virasatein banayi gayi hai. Kitne aise log honge jo roj til-til ke marr ke bhi aakhri saans tak lade honge, "kabhi sapno se toh kabhi apnon se" .Be it in the 19th century, 20th century or 2021, the saga of sacrifices like these never seems to end 💔

Absolutely! One small difference in that case and a normal one is that the elder generation has not kept us in a delusion that we will be accepted for falling in love outside the caste/community/ religion/state/country. Majority of us are aware of the consequences, painfully so. Uday and Vashma assumed the friendship could turn into rishtedaari coz till a point that was the picture shown to them 🤔
