I think he had let go of the vaada when he broke he shackles in the dream. When he agreed to marry, it was Sai who reminded him of Pakhi. Till then he was in a different zone. I don't think for him it was ever a deal but only Farz/Zimmedari (I so hate those words)

What was Virat thinking when he had said "Mujhese Pati ke jaisi koi umeed mat karna" what was that?

I agree all his Vaada shock was only till he did the Puja..Because till then Sai has not said she is going to leave him..The moment Sai mentioned leaving him after becoming a Doctor.. The Vaada boy suffered from another shock..And since then the mention of deal pisses him off...

Deal wala marriage nahi dil wala marriage hai for him , agar sai neh usseh pakhi ke baare mein yaad nahi dilaya hoga uss din then he wouldn't have said about don't expect anything from him , he always gets irritated when she talks about their marriage being deal , and after that amey arrest he literally told her in anger that she always reminds him that she never loves him and never wanted to get married to him 😂
