A movie which shows feminism i.e. the battle for equality and autonomy of women, or as simple as a woman realising her potential like in ENGLISH VINGLISH or a woman rebelling against patriarchy like Bubble/Thappad or a woman who emerges form her protective shell to create a new reality for herself(Queen)

A feminist film is one which utilises the female gaze. It's one which is consciously made and intends to get the audience thinking about equal rights for women and how women move through the world on a day-to-day basis.

That's not a feminist movie, it's a revenge tale.

I like Queen the most. It's entertaining and also puts across the point that it is trying to deliver without getting preachy.

Each of the movies you mentioned have a feminist touch and each is beautiful in its own way❤️.

Thappad from your list. An act so wrong yet it's done so much in the society that it somehow became abnormally normal.

.

.

Also PIKU. The fact that you don't have to go through something disastrous to prove being a feminist is refreshing. Piku will always be my feminist icon with the flaws and faults. Shoojit Sarcar is amazing ♥️

Yeah the ending kind of defeated the very purpose of the movie.

Although opinions might differ but I felt the ending was great. Sridevi earnt her respect in the family than being just a housewife.

As far as masses are concerned one cannot show divorce as there are many other factors to consider when separating than just being ridiculed for not speaking English or her kids disrespecting her.

Its true that a woman has a lot more maturity than a man in characters like Sridevi's.

English Vinglish because of its repeat value amongst the other things. Queen put me to sleep when I tried to rewatch it the second time itself though I loved it the first time in the theater.

Thappad is also a very good movie with a most important message.
