True she treats the other ladies of the house shabily to keep them on the toe be it Kanchan or Gayatri. Only Astha stood up to her and she hates that. And I think there more layers to why that is. Why she feels she can't exist without Shaurya. Remember she legally tried for Shaurya to be her Son but Astha refused to sign.
