Chapter 14

Here we go.......
Shaurya entered inside the gate and went to the garden. He could feel the rain drops falling over him and wiping away his tears. But it looked like no one was there for him to wipe them away and tell him everything will be alright. He know that he could go to his badi ma anytime and tell his anxieties. But ofcourse he won't, he doesn't want to worry his badi ma with his meagre problems. She had sacrificed a lot for him and he don't want to be a burden.
He even didn't know what was wrong with him, why was he worried. So many questions but no answer.
Shaurya looked at his wife with an unknown expression and couldn't help but hug her. He couldn't understand why she always wait after him? No one ever did. His family knew about the amount of work he has to handle being a professor and director of SIAC. But this girl who was a stranger to him......... but he could tell that he was falling for her. His jealousy, his possessiveness....... this girl had so much effect on him. But no happiness last for long in his life .......
" Please don't leave me. " Shaurya whispered hugging her tightly.
" Mr Sabharwal, .....are you alright?" Anokhi asked shocked by his reaction.
In response Shaurya hugged her more tightly. He knew he was being stupid but in his fear he just wanted to cling to her. It felt if he left her, then she might disappear.
Anokhi was totally perplexed by his reactions. One moment he was yelling at her to go away and the next he was hugging her.
Why?
She broke the hug, " what happened Mr Sabharwal? Are you alright?"
Shaurya cupped her face in his hands and whispered " don't ask me anything. Just don't. It's just...... just....."
" Don't worry I am here. " Anokhi assured him still confused by the situation.
Shaurya sat down on the ground and whispered " I know she will destroy everything. She is here to destroy my happiness. Look don't ask me any questions. Just stay away from that woman, for my sake. Please. "
Anokhi hesitant nodded.
Anokhi sat beside him " Mr Sabharwal, I won't ask you any questions..... but please let's go inside. Chaliye. "
Anokhi looked at the man , she address as her husband and scrunched her brows in confusion. First he was pushing her away and now here he was lying on the bed with his head on her lap sleeping like a kid. Shaurya lightly opened his eyes and put her hand over his head and slept again.
Anokhi chuckled at his antics , she couldn't believe that a grown up, no nonsense man could be such a child.
But what happened today, that he behaved like this?
What made him behave like this?
" Don't met her.....I won't let her.....near..... Anokhi....." Shaurya mumbled in sleep.
" Whom are you talking about Mr Sabharwal?" Anokhi whispered to his sleeping form.
She sighed exhausted by everything and kissed his forehead and decided to sleep now.
Shaurya opened his eyes as the rays of sunlight kissed his face. He yawned lightly and then sat up with a jerk. What did he do?
He looked at Anokhi who was sleeping in a uncomfortable position with her head supported by the headboard.
He hurriedly get up and went to the bathroom.
" What did you do? Shaurya, what is happening to you? Why are you losing control?" He whispered to himself.
He shook his head and decided to go to college as soon as possible. Facing Anokhi after his emotional breakdown would be too much.
Anokhi opened her eyes and looked besides her , no surprise he was gone. But still she was very much perplexed with everything that happened last night.
" Anokhiiiii" Arjun shouted.
" What?" Anokhi exclaimed " why are you shouting?"
" Now you are asking me this? Come on Nikki, don't tell me you don't remember what is today?"
" Today is Saturday....."
" And today we have to go to the literature festival. Bhool gayi?"
Anokhi shook her head , " I am sorry....I was thinking about something and I....."
" It's ok. Atleast I remember. Now would you be kind enough to get ready faster. I have to prepare for a lot of things. " Arjun said dramatically.
Anokhi chuckled and nodded obediently.
Shaurya looked at the invitation card and smiled and slightly. Anokhi would become ecstatic seeing this . Now, he didn't want to wait for anything. He knew that he was fond of her ..... his wife. He knew he want to give their marriage a chance. Ofcourse, it would be harder for her after what he did to her. But he would do his best to convince him. He knew she would agree, after all she is not someone to hold grudges.
He looked out of his car's window and saw a flower shop. He stopped the car and walked towards the shop.
" Wow! This is so big. I never went to a literature festival, this is my first time. It's just a dream come true. " Anokhi smiled.
" Ofcourse, it is. Don't worry now that you are Mrs Shaurya Sabharwal, you will get ample of opportunities. After all Shaurya Sabharwal has a big name. " Arjun said mimicking Shaurya.
Anokhi laughed and suddenly stopped remembering about Shaurya " maine unhe bataya hi nahi. Now, he will be worried. "
" Oh, don't worry Gayatri mami will inform him. " Arjun assured her.
" mmhmm. Sahi kaha. " Anokhi shook her head, it's not like he would we worried. As if he care what she does. It's not a big deal for him.
Shaurya entered the house in a good mood with a bouquet of roses in his hand. When he saw them in the shop he couldn't stop himself from buying them. They were so beautiful and he hope that she would like them.
" Shaurya bhaiya aap a gaye." Kanchan said giving him a glass of water.
" Yes, where is Anokhi?" He asked.
" Oh, actually she is not home. She went out with Arjun for the literature festival. " Kanchan answered.
" Kya....I thought.... But she didn't tell me. " He said.
"Bhool gayi hogi. She was getting bored at home so Arjun asked her to join him and you know that how much she love books. " Kanchan explained .
" By the way bhaiya, aapko bhi invite kiya hai as the chief guest, right?" Bebo asked.
" Then why you didn't take her with you?" Kitty asked.
" Actually I forgot to tell her about this. Anyways, I must go and get ready. " Shaurya said and excused himself.
Shaurya placed the flowers on the table and walked out of the room. He straightened his tie once again. He never felt this much nervousness.
" What do you think Kitty is there something between Arjun and Anokhi bhabhi? I mean, obviously Shaurya bhaiya don't give her any attention. So it's obvious she must be having fun with Arjun bhai. " Bebo said.
" I also think so. They look quite close to each other. " Kitty said.
" I think you both should study instead of gossiping. " Shaurya scolded them. " I am warning you not to talk such things about Anokhi or Kanchan. "
Saying so he walked towards the car, but deep down he knew he was wrong with his careless attitude towards Anokhi.

loved the way you depicted the emotional breakdown between Shaurya and Anokhi. Very well written as usual. Loved it. Now we have to wait until the next update for the big dhamaka. Shaurya slowly falling for his wife is such a treat to read. ❤️ Cant wait for the next update
