Both tujhse naraz and do naina aur ek kahani are beautiful songs

My Kishore Kumar love needs a separate post

Masoom is such a beautiful movie. But my favourite track from Masoom remains this one:

To be fair, "Aap Jaisa Koi" is not an accurate representation of "80s BW music."

It's more of a one-off, and was technically recorded by Nazia Hasan in 1979.

She was very young when she sang this and...... she was anyways much ahead of her time. 👍🏼She went on to become one of the most successful Pakistani pop artists of all time👏 and if I'm not wrong, she never sang again in Bollywood.

She and her brother Zoheb got together with Biddu for Kumar Gaurav's Star(1982). The songs were super hit though the film bombed. You might remember the song Boom Boom which was remixed and used again in the 90s by Biddu

The entire album is gold. And I find Zoheb as good or better than Nazia. The songs Ooe ooe, Muskuraye jaa and Star were equally good as his sister's songs.

Yes, there were few gems, for sure👏, but overall 80s music was quite mediocre and it was perhaps the worst era for BW industry in almost every possible way, be it music, films, fashion etc.

C'mon the 80s weren't that bad. Some of the fashion was bizarre. But by and large I don't find it any worse than the 70s or the 90s. I have just put together some of the best songs I loved from the decade.

Tumse milke aisa laga is my favourite song. It's there in my playlist.

Mine too. I just watched the movie last year and was blown apart. The song was a brief oasis of peace before everything fell apart. Did you know Bhansali was the assistant director and was in charge of the song? You can see that touch simplicity (Madhuri's pulled back simple hairstyle, usage of pastel shades) in Khamoshi.
