While Pakhi *Edited by DT* and adarniya Kaku's 'dushmani' was never out in the open nor did it get any actual time and opportunity to develop, one thing is clear- had it not been for Sai entering this toxic household, the dynamics would have been very, very different. When Virat was away in Gadchiroli, we saw Bhavani and Pakhi *Edited by DT* have quite a few run-ins. Pakhi *Edited by DT* was a mellower version of Sai before she got to know about Sai- headstrong, independent (?) and not afraid to take on Kaku. I was impressed when she said "apne hi ghar jaane ke liye kisi ki permission kyun chahiye mujhe". Even during the Samrat-Pakhi wedding rituals, Bhavani was pleased that Pakhi *Edited by DT* is her choice but beyond that she exhibited no real love for her. She knew that Pakhi is somebody who can't be silenced like Sonali or Karishma.
But both Pakhi and Bhavani changed their tune when hurricane Sai Joshi entered the fray. They had a common enemy and that's why these pathetic women latched on to each other for their personal gains. Had Sai not been there, sundar sushil padhi-likhi Patralekha would not have been put on this pedestal that she is very comfortably sitting on now. As much as Bhavani is using Patthar Didi to portray her as the ideal Chavan khandan hi adarsh Maratha bahu,Pakhi *Edited by DT* is doing the same by playing from Bhavani's team because it is the strongest team to be on- with 4 Maratha ghar ke bade on the team, 2 of them being completely spineless. As loyal as Team Sai comprising Ashwini-Devyani-Shivani-Virat is, Pakhi knows that Virat is somebody who with a bit of persuasion and manipulation can be made to play from the other team. As for Devyani and Shivani, they're mostly missing leaving Ashwini the only one who will always stand by Sai through thick and thin. But Ashwini's lack of clout in the house severely weakens the team.
Pakhi years for Ashwini's approval and love because she is her dream mother-in-law but Ashwini is completely in Sai's 'chungal' and has seen right through her disgusting intentions and her mini-Bhavani behaviour towards Sai.
Ever since Sai has come, Pakhi has shed her authenticity. She is NOT the silent, sabka sochne wali, bado ke beech na bolne wali, chai and nashta making bahu that she pretends to be. It is tiring to put on a mask all the time and the day Sai is out of the question and Bhavani does away with Patralekha, her mask will fall and nobody will know who the 'real' Patralekha is. She won't be on any team then. I have no sympathy for her. A person's character is judged on how they react to the toughest situations in ther life and while Patralekha's idea of a 'tough' situation is laughable, she has nobody but herself to blame for all the misery and frustration she feels.
She is the default best bahu of the house. Kaku's manipulation of Pakhi is way greater that what she has imagined. Bhavani needs Patralekha to not lose control of the house's niyam and anushasan to badtameez Sai but sushil and sanskari bahu requires her to get Virat- both their goals have one result- getting rid of Sai. Raste alag lekin manzil ek.
How will their equation be once Sai is not there, temporarily, in the picture?
