Chapter 24

“Life, if you keep chasing it so hard, will drive you to death. Time - when pursued like a bandit - will behave like one, always remaining one county or one room ahead of you, changing its name and hair colour to elude you, slipping out the back door of the motel just as you're banging through the lobby with your newest search warrant, leaving only a burning cigarette in the ashtray to taunt you. At some point, you have to stop because it won't. You have to admit that you can't catch it. That you're not supposed to catch it. At some point, you gotta let go and sit still and allow contentment to come to you" thinks Rian looking at Ridhima who is enjoying her breakfast with the team

"Ridhima, his Riddhu. Since the day she has entered his life things were never been same for him. Yes, she doesn't know but he used to follow her every step. When people taunted her, mocked her for being an orphan, he saw it. What she doesn't know whoever badmouthed her were never returned in her life because they simply reached whom they believed" smirks Rian by looking at his self-reflection in the mirror.

"When she fell love in with Kabir, he let her love because he knows he is not a nice man and she will learn soon and will learn about life. What he never thought was she will agree to marry Vansh Rai Singhania for sake of him. The impressive move by the little girl and he was quite knowing she is entering into Lion's den. But then Kabir shot her, now that's the string which he shouldn't pull. Only he knows how he controlled himself, maybe he killed some 50-100 people criminals who betrayed him and controlled his anger. He never thought VR would take a jump but he came back as Vihaan to torture her. He let him do it considering she won't be an emotional fool. However, she is proving him wrong with her emotions. He for the first time confused in what way he can teach her to use her mind than her emotions" thinks Rian by breaking the glasses in the frustration.

"He has seen her using her mind at the time when Vansh died. The way she had made Kabir burn the files, he liked her smart move, but then why everything of her is connected to Vansh? Is her love so deep for him that she is not able to think with her mind? He made Richie use mind games against her, told lie about her not being a mother again. What more he can do to make her like them? If any one of these things happens to anyone in the world by now they would hate this world but here she is such a strong girl who still thinks with her heart and emotions" feels Rian by kicking the furniture and shouts in frustration.

Sher comes at the same time and shocks to see things are completely broken in King's room.

"Is everything fine, King?"

asks Sher

"Well, looks like the little girl wants me to teach her about life, Sher,"

says Rian turning towards Sher

"Life?"

asks Sher

"She wants to become like I and Vansh. The one who thinks with the mind but not with the heart. What do you think Sher? What should I do with her?"

asks Rian by leaning towards his couch

"I don't think you should teach her, Lord. She will learn through the time"

says Sher making Rian smirk

"A nice friend is very hard to get Sher. I like the way you are being a good friend of her"

says Rian taking the broken glass and piercing his hand

"Lord"

shouts Sher and tries to moves near him but Rian stops him

"Nah! Don't. You know right, Sher. I get pleasure while hurting myself because I don't feel pain"

says Rian laughing like a maniac

"I know Debt Collector, which is why I don't want Ridhima to learn anything from you. Let time teaches her everything. Please, Lord"

says Sher

"Since when you became such a sweetheart, Sher?"

asks Rian who is bandaging himself

"She has seen so much pain Lord. You know it better than me. However, we never helped her. I get where she is coming from. Since the moment Vansh said the emotional fool, she unable to handle it. But you have seen right, how she was happy while sea-diving, let her be in the same way, King"

says Sher

"One cannot attain perfection simply by theoretical knowledge or spiritual knowledge, but Self-Knowledge (the Soul). A person must undergo all kinds of experiences such as suffering, pain, disease, happiness, joy, love, success, failure etc to achieve perfection. Don't you think so Sher?"

asks Rian while picking his new tie

"No one is perfect, Lord. You told me this and you said you like flaw people"

says Sher looking down at his feet

"Nice play of words, Sher. I'm impressed"

says Rian while picking the gun from the drawer

"King, are we going anywhere? Shall I prepare the chopper?"

asks Sher seeing King getting ready

"Don't you think it's time to visit Ridhima?"

says Rian turning towards Sher and making the latter panic

"For what?"

asks Sher being in protective space and Rian can sense his possessive nature and the alpha male in him couldn't handle the Beta of him standing against him

"Are you against me, Sher?"

asks Rian taking steps towards Sher

"Never, my Lord. I always stay loyal to you. It just you want to go before her and at a time when whole Mafia Mob is present. Until now none has seen you King, but why for the sake of Ridhima, you want to take this risk?"

asks Sher not understanding what kind of relationship he shares with her.

Rian smirks,

"Curious are you? To know why I can go to any length for her. Well, one day you will learn, Sher. But right now if you don't want me to go near do a thing for me then?"

says Rian

Sher is shocked to see King asked. It's always an order. With utmost fear in his heart and sincerity in words, he asks,

"Anything I'm ready to do, King."

"I know, you will Sher,"

says Rian while going back to his chair and says,

"Now, do you know why I like chess the most, Sher?"

"It's a mind game,"

says Sher

"Slow boy. But you see Sher, the reason I like the game chess is that each move has countless repercussions, but you're in charge of them. And it's your ability to see into the future and the effects of the decisions you've made that males you either a good or not a good chess player. It's not luck"

says Rian while taking the Queen of the opposition and says

"Check Mate"

with a smile on his face making Sher feel nervous.

He looks at Sher and says,

"You and I should play sometime. I think you would like it. It's a game of strategy, mostly. The strong pieces are in the back row, while the weak pieces - the pawns - are all in the front, ready to take the brunt of the attack. Because of their limited movement and vulnerability, most people underestimate them and only use them to protect the more powerful pieces. But when I play I protect my pawns..."

says Rian who is playing the game once again from the beginning leaving Sher nervous for Ridhima.

Rian continues,

"They may be weak when the game begins, but their potential is remarkable. Most of the time, they'll be taken by the other side and held captive until the end of the game. But if you're careful - if you keep your eyes open and pay attention to what your opponent is doing, if you protect your pawns and they reach the other side of the board, do you know what happens then?'

Rian asks Sher while the latter says,

"Your pawn becomes a queen"

Rian smiles listening to the answer and says,

"Because they kept moving forward and triumphed against impossible odds, they become the most powerful piece in the game,"

says Rian while getting up and stands against the Sher and says,

"Now, I want you to make Ridhima fall in love with you, Sher."

Sher is shocked to listen to the statement of Rian,

"King, how can you say like that?"

asks Sher

"What's wrong in that? I cannot play with her heart, Lord. She broke twice"

says Sher

Rian smirks and says,

"Now you see Sher. I was thinking in what way Ridhima can become like us and then I realized it's not the amount of the pain we went through, it's about how we lost our innocence. While Ridhima didn't lose that yet. Her heart is still innocent and trusts everyone. Someone needs to kill it. So why don't you take the initiative and kill her innocence?"

asks Rian looking at Sher

Here Ridhima is searching for Vansh so that she can speak about the last night and finally she sees him with his family and goes to speak with him.

"Vansh"

she calls

"Yes, Ridhima,"

he says maintaining himself and controlling his emotions

"Can we speak for two minutes, please?"

says Ridhima

"Sure,"

he says and moves near the railing of the cruise

"Whatever happened last night... "

says Ridhima, however, Vansh cuts in the middle

"It shouldn't happen. It's a mistake, Ridhima. Better you forget about it"

says Vansh making Ridhima smirk

"What?"

asks Vansh seeing her smirking at him

"I know you would say this and I'm right about you, Vansh,"

says Ridhima flicking her back

"But I'm not here to say the same. I'm here to say last night I lost my control. And the reason is because of my lingering feelings towards you. I don't blame you for anything. I need to blame myself and the feelings I carry for you. But whatever you said right now made me feel so low about me. But it's fine as said I don't blame you for anything. And I promise you, from this moment, you will be the closed book of my life which I don't want to read again"

says Ridhima leaving Vansh in his thoughts

"Ridhima, wait!"

says Vansh which makes Ridhima turn towards him.

"Yes,"

says Ridhima still hoping him to say something to her. Hoping him to say he loves her but the next words surprised her.

"I trust you with Kabir and Anupriya. But for me to pick you over the family is not possible"

says Vansh

"I never asked you to pick one. I told you the truth and wanted Kabir and Anupirya to go away from the house. Is it so hard?"

asks Ridhima

"Everything in life has its moment, Ridhima. So does these both"

replies Vansh

"Okay, then. Take your time, Bye!"

says Ridhima with hurtful face

"Wait!"

says Vansh

"Whatever happened last night should not happen again. I know what I have asked from you is wrong and I don't want to lose control such again"

says Vansh

"So what I should do? It's you to be in control"

says Ridhima while leaving with pain in the heart

"What's the heck was that? What I wanted to say to her and what I told her? Did she rejected me or I rejected her?" thinks Vansh

"Boss,"

says Angre

"Yes, Angre"

replies Vansh

"You should have told her what you are feeling, Boss,"

says Angre while Vansh turns towards him and glares at him

"Angre, that's none of your business,"

says Vansh

"It's my business since I consider you as my family, Boss,"

says Angre

"I know what I'm doing Angre,"

says Vansh

"No, Boss. I know what you're trying to do? But to what extent you can do this?"

asks Angre

"Angre"

snaps Vansh

"You will be burned alive when the ones who meant the world to you leave for no reasons..... It's not their absence which is hurting, but its the memories of their presence which is tearing your heart apart..... This is what I heard about love for a very long time. Now let me ask you this, Boss, Ridhima bhabi left you now. Are you fine?"

asks Angre

"It's better she leaves me, Angre. I know I want her back, I know I cannot see her with anyone. I know I'm losing my self-control when she is near me. But that's fine. It's okay for me to leave her"

says Vansh

"Boss, what are you afraid of? This Mafia life? Did you saw her? How she took care of herself in the fight? She can be the Queen of your world if you can open the doors of your heart, Boss?"

says Angre

"Leave me alone, Angre,"

says Vansh while pushing him aside

"No, not today. I want to know when you know the truth that Anupriya has hurt Sia and when you know Kabir used Ridhima bhabi, why should Ridhima bhabi me the victim? Tell me, Boss?"

Angre shouts

"Because Ishani killed her parents, Okay?"

shouts Vansh

"Yes, your damn wife and my sister killed her parents due to which I was in juvenile for four damn years and I have learned this truth while I was enacting as Vihaan,"

says Vansh

"She cannot be near me Angre. All I can give her is pain. I know she is in Mafia, why do you think I'm trying to keep her near me so that I know why she is here and then make sure she leaves the Mafia. I enacted before everyone that I hate her. To know whether I really hate her or not Kabir has installed a secret camera in my room and for which I even made sure to show emotions such that I will kill her if I see her"

says Vansh while tears falling from his and Angre.

"Boss"

whispers Angre

"Even now while I was talking with Ridhima, Kabir is watching us and you might be thinking why I'm afraid of Kabir. It's not me who is afraid of him, right now I'm keeping with me to make sure he doesn't harm any other person in my family. I kept near me because I don't want him to run behind Ridhima and harm her"

says Vansh while Angre standstill

"Do you even know how I feel Angre? I don't know this me, Angre. Maybe I was destined to forever fall in love with people I couldn’t have. Maybe there’s a whole assortment of impossible people waiting for me to find them. Waiting to make me feel the same impossibility over and over again"

says Vansh

"I'm sorry, Boss,"

says Angre

"It's fine Angre. I'm glad at least I could share with you what I feel. It's nice to have a friend like you, Angre"

says Vansh while moving away from the deck and leaving Angre in the guilt.

I don't want riddhima to fall in love with sher though I want vansh to feel jealous.

I hope in future we would be able to see vansh and riddhima opening their hearts infront of each other. I want vansh yo talk about his suffdrings, his pain.

I thought I came after so many days to this story people might have forgotten but your reply made me realize you remember :)

Vansh yes went through a lot and let's see what he will be going through

Rian is entirely different concept if you see correctly the way he used chess says his most character to some extent

It's not easy to understand him

For me to understand him and write is more complex than any other character because he shouldn't be easily understood by anyone at the same time his words should make sense.

Thanks for appreciating all the stories dear and this I will try to concentrate more on this going forward.

All the credits to you for creating Rian. Seriously it is so much difficult to understand this man. Hats off to you for potraying him in this way. No one can do this even writers of many popular shows can never create such character. I can understand how much difficult it must be for you to write about rian. You have to think about lots of things.
