If you observe their faces in precap they looked horrified 😭 and they were trying to reach out for each other but failed to do so

So on 20 February 1947, the news of a possible Partition before independence in June 1948 (original date decided for transfer of power) broke out in Lahore leading to riots all over the region. Mere speculation, but later became brutal reality
