So after the longest writer's block in the history of the world, I could pen this down todayđ. I don't know if this OS makes any sense. It was a little jumbled up and I just went with the flow. I don't know how it has turned out. Hope you guys like it.đ¤.
Here Arnav just went to London to clear his mind. Khushi calling Shyam to the Airport didn't happen, she just went to stop him because she felt he was leaving.
Arnav walked out of the IGI Airport with a determined stance. He had things to sort out and he didn't want to waste any more time. As he reached the door of the arrivals terminal, Khushi's tearful face flashed across his eyes. He shook his head as if the image had seared him physically.
Agar aap hi aise chale jayenge toh hum saans hi nai....
Her incomplete sentence made perfect sense now. He settled in the backseat of the cab he had ordered and reflected on the last two weeks he had spent away, away from his home, away from her.
Arnav had settled down in his apartment which was his haven whenever he was in London. He plopped himself down onto the plush king-sized bed and dozed off after a tiring day, both physically and emotionally. When woke up a few hours later the sun had already begun to set, casting a pale yellow glow across the dimly lit bedroom. After freshening up, he stood in the open balcony relishing the cool evening breeze. Khushi would love it here, Arnav thought looking at the clear sky with stars twinkling above his head. Just as her thought entered his mind, he vehemently discarded it. All the happenings of the past two days came rushing back to him. Their fight, her confessions, his anger. Arnav broke his chain of thoughts before it went into any unwanted direction. He entered his room and decided to unpack his luggage. As he was picking up his coat he saw a little pink object fall from one of its pockets. It was a pom-pom from Khushi's pink dress that she was wearing when she had come to meet him at the airport. He picked it up and twirled it in his hand, remembering all the times these stupid things would bounce as she jumped up and down his entire house, laughing, grumbling, teasing. How could someone so full of life try to ruin his sister's life? How could someone who believed her parents had become stars, be involved in something so sinister? For the first time in the past 4 months Arnav was starting to have doubts about his judgement.
His stay in London was giving him the time to think calmly about the storm he was stuck in. The constant haze of overwhelming emotions had dispersed a little now that he was not in constant proximity of people invoking feelings within him. Being left alone was all he needed to get his brain working. Arnav kept thinking about the limbo that he was stuck in. He replayed every conversation he had with Khushi, analysed every incident to find any clues to prove what Khushi had told him on the bridge was true. One day as he was thinking about her broken engagement, he remembered Di telling how Khushi's fiance's name was Shyam too and what a coincidence it was. Dread seeped into his being thinking about how this one tiny detail that he had missed would turn his world upside down. Arnav immediately picked up his phone to call his sister. She picked it up in two rings as usual.
"Hello Chotte, how are you? Is everything okay?" Anjali asked worried as she knew it was quite late according to London time.
"Yes Di, I am fine. I wanted to ask you something." Arnav started hesitantly.
"What is it Chotte?" Anjali asked.
"Di, what was the name of Khushi's ex-fiance? I can't seem to recall it." Arnav asked coming straight to the point.
"Shyam, his name was Shyam. But why are you-"
Before Anjali could complete the sentence, the phone slipped from Arnav's hand and fell near his feet. He simply sat there with his head in his hands, not moving even an inch. Her pleading eyes and desperate voice shouted and begged him to listen to her over and over but he insulted her, doubted her and even went to the extent of calling her characterless. The memories of the brutality he had subjected her to washed over him in waves, drowning him in guilt and sorrow. He dragged himself to the bedroom and collapsed onto the bed, the weight of guilt releasing the dam of tears he had been holding back for a long time.
Arnav looked at himself in the mirror, he saw a defeated man who had lost his happiness due to his own foolishness. He did not like the man staring back at him. He was Arnav Singh Raizada and ASR never gave up without a fight. He decided it was time to correct every wrong that had been done. It was time for Shyam to meet the ASR the world feared.
"Aman I need you to hire a private investigator and probe into Shyam's activities for the last year. I want every detail, where he went, who he met, who he called. Everything." Arnav barked.
"Yes ASR, I am on it." Aman responded, though he found it a little weird.
The next week Arnav studied the reports Aman sent to him and was ready with enough proofs to kick Shyam out of their lives and end the sham that he had been putting up for years. All the while he missed Khushi everytime he got up to make himself a cup of coffee or took his medicines or looked at the stars at night. She had occupied his mind every minute of the day. He had to make things right with Khushi, he had to tell her he was sorry and would do anything for her forgiveness. Her happiness mattered to him more than taking his revenge from Shyam. He couldn't wait to get back to her, to the girl who had stolen his heart.
Arnav was broken out of his reverie as the cab stopped in front of his house. Arnav sighed as he realised she was in there probably chasing Lakshmi around the house or cooking jalebis while chatting away with Di, Nani and Payal. He hastily got out and walked up to the main door. He rang the doorbell and after a few seconds the door was opened by a huffing Khushi who seemed like she had run a marathon. He took in her appearance, she was wearing a baby pink anarkali with her hair left open, but her eyes looked sunken like she hadn't slept in weeks. Her face seemed to have become a little paler. Arnav swallowed the lump in his throat, clutched her wtist and walked inside while Khushi kept staring at him with tearful eyes as he gently pulled her with him to their room.
As soon as Arnav closed the door to the room. Khushi launched herself at him, her resolve to stay strong breaking the moment they were alone. She hugged him with all her might, not caring that he would eventually push her off of him. She hadn't realised how much she had missed him until she saw him at the door. He was looking frail, his shoulders slumped and his chocolate brown eyes reflecting immense pain which only she could see. She relaxed as Arnav wrapped her arms around her. She could never hate this man, no matter what he did. She had realised how much she loved and cared for him in the past two weeks.
"Why did you go away Arnavji? I was so worried. I am not letting you go anywhere now." Khushi finally uttered, finding her voice.
"I am so sorry for leaving like that. I should have listened to you. I found answers to all of my questions. I just needed time." Arnav murmured, his face resting on her shoulder.
Khushi was shocked to hear his apology. She knew something was wrong since the moment she saw him at the door. He was not his usual self and that was not good.
"Why are you saying this Arnavji?" Khushi asked cupping his face.
Arnav pulled her hand down from his cheek and kissed her palm. He went down on his knees and held both her hands in his.
"I know you deserve someone way better than me but I am selfish Khushi, like you said at the airport ki agar tum chali jaogi toh mai saans hi nai le paunga. I don't even know how many times I have hurt you, but for every single time, I am sorry Khushi." Arnav said his voice trembling with emotion.
Khushi was overwhelmed with his genuine apology. She sat down in front of him and threw her arms around his neck. Tears streamed down her cheeks as he held on to her as if his life depended on it. Both of them sat there, soaking in each other's presence, making up for the time they had lost.
"Will you forgive me Khushi and give this Laad Governor of yours a chance to make you happy?" Arnav asked hopefully.
"I have a condition." Khushi said, arms crossed in front of her. Arnav paled hearing her reply but steeled himself as he knew he deserved her punishment.
"You will never leave me alone and take me with you wherever you go." Khushi declared with a straight face.
" I will never leave you alone. Arnav aur Khushi ab hamesha saath rahenge." Arnav promised looking straight into her eyes.
"Hamesha." Khushi repeated cupping his face, happy that they could finally move on from this and start a new journey.
Her echoing his declaration was enough for Arnav to know that he was forgiven but he knew better than to take it for granted. He would spend the rest of his life making up to her by giving her all the happiness in the world.
With her by his side, Arnav could deal with a thousand snakes like Shyam. Khushi was his strength and he was sure she would be Anjali's too. He would punish the man who had dared to hurt the two women he loved more than his life.
