I was a bit curious about GHKKMM & tried to watch some clips of the original on YouTube.

I guess they always wanted to portray Sai's character to be OTT. Emon too was really OTT in the original version. But I found her funnier.

Plus the ML and Rupkotha (Pakhi in Hindi) - i was really impressed by them. Not just they cast older actors they portrayed their characters with much maturity.

When I watched a scene between Rono & Emon - it actually felt like typical husband-wife with quite an age gap & the guy was so composed. He held her hand but that wasn't OTT or nor did they focused on it much which actually enhanced the interaction.

Watched the same sequence in Hindi. Neil is a good actor but compared to the original version, I couldn't understand the hype regarding Virat.

I would choose Rono over Virat any day TBH. 😳

Can totally get it! I toh had already shared my views, on the super hype of the show and mess.

They seem to overdo.

One of my mutuals told me, something way crazy but still... 🙈

Seems a son is missing of the family but no one is concerned, family seems more interested in their drama and nonsense. This is together totally limits.

The thing is, even in the Bengali version the family was being a d*** to Emon. But then again, the matriarch of the family, the badi chachi, she seemed more like typical older citizen who was venting for suddenly bringing an outspoken girl in the family. And one scene I was totally shocked like there's a Bengali saying - Aj Tomar Ekdin Ki Amar Ekdin.

It's basically used when we are indulging in a huge fight & only one can win.

So Rono's father came at Emon & said this & Emon literally challenged him that she was right there, what was he gonna do? I was really shocked that even if it was OTT, I found it amazing the way the girl held her ground.

I might share the clip later. 😛

But I don't find that type of vibe from the remake.

Here everyone's more dressed up & they don't really look like normal people to me. It's like they just want to ghusofy Drama & kitchen politics without any substance. 🤔

In the original too the boy disappeared as per WiKi. Don't know how they handled it there. 😳

Pavitra shines in negativity. She did in YHM too. Although that was way too much but still, she is a good actress in negative role. 👍🏼

Tfs all references. With its flaws, regional version seems to have substance.

Well my friend was obviously pissed and finds his (son) character, more interesting but can't tolerate ott drama. They seem to overdo the mess.
