Mid January in India is celebrated in multiple ways.

The origins remain same as they all commemorate the movement of Earth into the Northern part of the celestial sphere, end of Winter solstice, and pleasing of the sun god to get a good harvest

But, the names and specific ways to celebrate it vary from region to region.

This time, I invite everyone here to celebrate this festival together.

Be it Lohri, Uttarayan, Makar Sankranti, Pongal, Magh Bihu, or any other name you call it by...

Let's enjoy it together 🥳.

What we have to do :

You can be a participant and prepare one post on any of these festivals. It can be about the legend behind it, the rituals and their meanings, the way you celebrate it, any specific memory you have of past celebrations, etc.

You can write or make edits, that is upto you. The post is yours and you're free to choose what and how to share 😳.

Rules :

There are no particular rules to it but please remember that each participant will have one post only.

Don't start making the posts here. Another thread will be opened on 12th so that you can draft your posts there.

The festival celebration thread will be kept open only to participants for 12th and 13th by which they will be expected to update their posts.

On 14th, it will be opened to everyone else for viewing and commenting.

Please note that this is not a contest and there will be no winners.

It is just for exchanging knowledge and anecdotes with each other.

I hope you're as eager to learn and experience this Cultural Potpourri 😳.

P.S. For any help on how to edit posts, add images, page breaks, etc you can message in this thread or PM me 😳.
