I agree, they should build layers to side characters. Like we only know about Virat, Sai and bit about Ashwini.

Baki logon ka just basic info pata hain and most of them are single dimension characters who can be defined with just one adjective.

Like you said, though we feel sad for Shivani as she is super nice person, it is kind of difficult to relate to that character when there is no proper build up.

Didn't she get the bf during Samrat's wedding, they would have built it from there, chote mote scenes hi sahi, take 2-3 mins of the time to develop each side character per day.

Also why should drama always happen with the leads. So in a way I am happy that this time the drama was not due to Sai, instead she helps in solving it.

We know nothing about Mohit even though he lives in same house. He hardly gets dialogues since Virat's wedding. No background for Omi and Sonali. How did Mohit and Karishma meet and marry? etc

Given that they air 6 days a week, not every episode needs a shouting OTT scene. Some of the filler episodes can be around side characters.

I can bet CM niwasis will somehow find a way to blame her anyway. They will say if Sai knew amey is married why didn't she stop shivani. Or sai is the one brainwashing shivani etc etc. And eventually when Sai solves the issue, they will obviously say nothing nor will they look guilty/ashamed.

I sincerely want the makers to prove my prediction wrong but i dont have high hopes!

For a change I hope they don't show them blame Sai for this. Its not like Shivani changed after Sai came to their life. She was always an independent person with her own life choices.

They might blame her for shouting in front of outsiders, khandaan ki naat kaat di maybe.

Your so right. Shivanis character has no depth hence I’m not able to connect with her. After 2 divorces won’t someone be more careful about their affections. If an 18 yr old girl can smell something fishy shivani should be more circumspect about any relationship.

I like her supporting Sai but probably this story about Amay is to support some part of Sai & Virats story. Don’t know how though.

@Bold: recent spoilers say that Sarita is gonna wreck havoc in Sairat's life. Shivani or Amey weren't mentioned anywhere. Possible that they will work as a team.

Yes it'll be great to see Sairat teamwork. If the show makers change the plot compared to the original it'll be great. There will be freshness. Plus if they start doing sone substantial changes in the scenes we can all hope that we can get even more Sairat scenes.

I agree. They have show Shivani having apprehensions about marrying but she seems quiet careless in selecting a partner. Sai, an 18 yr old sensed the smoke while a 2 time divorcee didn't?

It is possible that maybe this a part of Shivani's character that she rushed in without thinking rationally but they haven't shown this character trait else where. In fact Shivani is missing in most day time drama, so I assume that she goes out to work. But nothing tells us about her journey to work since everyone has such golden rules about working women. Or is it only the 'bahus'

This is what I miss about the late 1900’s and early 2000 -2010 shows, they did focus on the side characters. They might not have a whole episode just dedicated to them but the makers did show some it’s and bit’s throughout the show that made them less one-dimensional but nowadays, everything revolves around the leads, even the problems of someone else’s life and usually, it’s the leads that solve it for them and not the victims in the problem themselves. So annoying I tell you.

I didn’t expect much multi-dimensioned characters from this show from day one when they showed bhawani kaku so I am not that disappointed with the lack of connections with Shivani but they should have focused on her as her life does seem interesting. Two divorces, career - minded, seems like she has enough money to move out yet still chooses to stay with the chawans. There must be something there but of course, we are not gonna that and just see virat and sai’s p.o.v of the situation, not shivani’s.
