It's not like they are showing regressive behavior and commenting/critiquing to show that that is wrong.

Actors do not have a prerogative on how their character proceeds in the screenplay, that is completely upto the makers and channel. Their creative decisions are what matters the most. That is exactly why post a certain period of time we have seen so many actors leave shows due to their character being butchered and so so. But just saying from a legal standpoint, we have seen how in some cases, movies and shows have gotten banned and closed due to a group pointed out wrong representation, hence they should be careful.

Star+ interferes quite a lot on that level, on the amount of drama quotient, I mean. To think it started the "Nayi Soch" slogan in 2011.

And entertainment can only be achieved by portraying and legitimising the torture of ITV bahus!

Watching the same show in two languages aint fun, I was watching Aai Kuthey Kay Karte and Anupamaa for a while and it was for me why it made sense in Marathi and the Hindi version was so hella 😡

True. Sometimes the shows start off so nicely, and then just to promote one couple/plot/story, the channel and makers devise some stupidity and make all FLs become typical bahus. Yesterday's episode I saw less of the daredevil Sai we knew and loved and more of a watered down version of a typical FL where she obliged Kaku. There is a reason that we are watching GHKKPM and not SNS2 na? Why make it version 2? 🤔

Like in Mirzapur, even the slightest scene of Kaleen bhaiya rushing to his new born baby, not caring for his wife until she reminds him that she too exists and has suffered much more than the new born kid, its a small scene, a blink and miss, if you may, but the screenplay is brilliant because it hits you in the guts.

Unlike here, you watch a scene, feel pity for Sai and want her to walk away, not stay and fight, and that is not what Sai is, Sai fights. Bhavani is regressive, I get it, but her repressiveness feels straight out of an 80s movie. I am not saying that women dont suffer and arent tortured like Sai is, they are, but this, this cant be right if you cant give us a corrective message with the scene. Not every scene needs a monologue about why aurat is mahaan, but Shivani asking the cleaners to clean the sofa off its patriarchal thoughts, it was a good one, that should be it, take baby steps, not fetus steps!
