I think the past week's episodes have all been about Virat's acceptance, no no not his feelingsšŸ˜† or the deal (bandha has already wiped it out of existence if you ask me šŸ˜›)

Remember how he wanted Sai to be guided by Paakhi on being mature? 🤪

Virat knew that Sai had certain childlike attributes and wrote her off as a child which is why he wanted to sign her up for classes with his "best friend". This is what grated Sai too that he not only saw it as shortcoming but wanted her to change especially in comparison to another woman.

Today its the same Virat who admires Sai's childlike innocence and stubborn nature. "Bacchi hai" that was said with exasperation and sometimes as an excuse has become something that he admires, evident with the way he responded to Paakhi's taunts as well as his question to Sai "Tum aisi choti choti baathon kaise kush ho jaati ho"

And this acceptance of Sai is not an adjustment or compromise it stems out of understanding and respect. It didn't happen overnight as it may seem so on the surface level. I think it was two incidents that happened back to back that changed Virat's perception.

First was Sai's visit to the DIG, they had just had huge fight where had solely blamed her for all his miseries and said some really unsavoury things but Sai hadn't held a grudge but gone ahead and got him out of trouble. Her reply to him was "I only told the truth".

Second was Sai's visit to Paakhi's house. Virat knows that Sai doesn't exactly like Paakhi nor was she at fault (or maybe not entirely in his POV) yet she had gone to make amends despite the fact she may not be welcomed at all (Sab tumse teek se peshaya na?). Her reply to him was "I made a promise".

This gave a glimpse of what an understanding and mature person Sai is and could be when the situation demands. Though this should have been evident with the way she dealt with things after her Aaba's death (*post the suicide attempt)

This is why I also think that Virat's equation with Sai is not that of an indulgent uncle or brotheršŸ˜† it would have been if he had continued to insist that she needs a guide but now he definitely sees her as an adult who is different from the rest. In fact he loosens up with her and has fun which I think is a side he has only opend up to her so far.

Neither of them are quite in the attraction stage yet which is quite fine I think when it happens it would be quite a natural transition too though Virat is almost there I would say feeling her absence when she moved out of the room, phula hua chehra at being rejected for a datešŸ˜† and in a way he is already tuning out everybody in Sai's presence its like only she and her happiness matters. During the result announcement as well as the Candy floss surprise moments he didn't give a damn about the Makkad gang or MMK's presence.

* I say post suicide because Sai was overtaken by grief till that point and not judge her suicide attempt itself which is understandable because she had lost her only family and her life had turned upside down. She wanted an out to overcome the grief and emptiness is understandable. I don't think there is any right or wrong or something that could be judged by a third person as such.

Loved this post dearšŸ‘

Adding to the reasons you mentioned I also think there's the fact that she never wanted credit/validation from him or his family for the two things she did. She just went about her business casually. When Ash asked her why she didn't say anything and she replied, he looked at her with absolute pride and respect.

I would say there is a bit of attraction. That long stare during the reception, the part where he is absolutely lost in her the other day during their late night convo. With Pakhi, it was purely because of her beauty, for they knew nothing about each other. Normally, based on experiences, the reasons we are attracted change over time. So, with Sai he is past the point of only being attracted over her physical features, her beauty (he is, though, tucking the hairšŸ˜†). Her innocence, her cuteness, her personality and charisma; he is lost in that part of her as wellšŸ˜†

That is also one of the reason Pakhi's taunt of him marrying a child and your Sai is being laughed off so easily. He does not even bother to look at Pakhi, too lost is he, in someone else.

Thank you 😊

I completely forgot about the reception and the hair tucking partšŸ˜†, so I suppose there is an underlying attraction. I wonder if we'll ever get to see an outright besharam ViratšŸ˜†

Loved this post! Yes, I haven't felt that they are in bro-sis or father-daughter replacement relationship. They know they are married and keep reminding each other of hadh/deal/zimmedari etc more to get the other person to do what they don't want to do themselves --- deny it. And then, they are both heavily guarded and heavily burdened by each of their vaadas. Eventually, everything will melt away and just the raw bond will remain. The attraction is so silent and so fragile that at times it even gets overshadowed by their anger for each other and then as the sand cools off when the blazing sun is gone, when there's nothing to shine upon, it appears like the moon during their night pillow talks šŸ˜†

@bold: I also have a view that she did not want the credit for being the one who solved the problems because she also did not want the blame for being the one who started it. So her dialogue: "Wo apni marzi se ghar chhodh kar gayi thi aur apne marzi se aayi hai" is clear that "I did not force her to leave". While she apologised to be the "bigger person" even when she wasn't wrong at all, she knew that she was not wrong and she did not need to accept any fault in front of that ungrateful family. So, "I only asked her to reconsider her decision and I am glad she forgave me (for her own good) and returned". Even in the DIG scene: "Aapke khilaaf complaint bebuniyad, jhoothi thi. Maine sirf sach bola". So: "I am not the cause of this problem. You married me when I didn't want to for the reasons you mentioned. But you forced me and now you can't blame me. But it will still not deter me from speaking the truth."

Virat has begun to realise this and Didi is soon on the way to become official "vahini" šŸ˜† That's why he has finally found a dictionary which tells him ki "parivaar" ka matlab hi "zimmedari" hota hai. 🤣

@bold 🤣

no wonder he is all prim and proper at all times except with Sai. I am looking at the circus that Chavan oops chakram niwas is and wondering how his childhood must have been for him to think "Parivaar ka matlab zimmedari hota hai".

In fact when we look at both Sai and Virat keeping each other's good, bad and grey sides aside they are both individuals who take their responsibilities seriously but somehow its more natural with Sai while Virat's approach towards responsibility is very conditioned. No wonder he goes around making ridiculous and unbelievable promisesšŸ˜†
