I heard that ak vs ak was first offered to Shahid Kapoor. In place of sonam, mira would have been kidnapped. It would have been her debut. Now that I watched it I felt Shahid would have brought a different picture altogether. Yes anil is good but Shahid would have been a different game. What do you think?

It would have been more successful if Shahid did it?

Shahid would have brought in more views for sure.


But successful, I don't think so it would have been a success even then. Vikramaditya Motwane's cinema is only for those who are well-versed in cinematic language, and can appreciate the nuances which he brings to the table.

I found the film tripping over its own cleverness in more ways than one. The film-within-a-film trope was too pretentious. I agree with Anupama Chopra's review completely.


Having said that, much better than Collie No. 1 which is pure nonsense.


However, I prefer middle-of-the-road cinema. I avoid both extremes.
