SO,
First things first hello everyone there, this is ashu. After reading many many and many views and perspectives. Finally, I am here to share my view, hope this doesn’t misfire or hurt anyone sorry in advance.
Toh let’s start:
A butterfly is the most used creature to draw metaphors and symbolism. So, here the beautiful little titli can be used for many good reasons here in the show.
1. SAI- THE METAMORPHOSIS (the life cycle of butterfly)
Sai is a teenage girl who is fierce, honest, and hot-headed. This is what we came through in the early episodes. Some even criticized her being single dimensional but is it? Ab toh ham dil pe haath rakhkar we can say ‘NO’ Just like a butterfly goes through metamorphosis (from egg to butterfly) even sai has to experience different stages to get the best version of herself. just like gold goes through fire to become its purest form sai has to/ actually is going through the best stages which can make her stand on her own feet and values.
# THE EGG STAGE – THE SAI IN GC:
We’ve seen Sai in gadchiroli, the rude brat, etc who kept anger as her defense mechanism just like a newborn butterfly who is in the shell; Sai is in a shell, her comfort zone, her aaba, her friends, and all. Though she had threats she lived was living in her comfort zone happily. Her protection shell was broken with the entry of virat.
# THE CATERPILLAR – SaiRat in GC
The sai with virat is first the same rude angry one but slowly there was a progression, Virat saw many shades of sai, like the jolly one with aaba, the angry young women around him, the caring one with pari, and the mature one who promised that she will not come in between his friendship with pakhi. Just like a caterpillar grows and sheds its skin, we’ve seen sai grow from the hot-headed one to the honest girl with the heart in the right place. Then we saw Sai, who took the taunts replied to them, and finally in the saturation state to deal everything with silence.
# THE PUPA STAGE – THE INDIFFERENCE
This stage was started the day Virat threw the food down and regretted marrying her. Just like the caterpillar builds a cocoon around it. Sai is adding bricks to her sinhgad fort. Whatever people say doesn’t affect her, even if affected she isn’t ready to show it openly to anyone. Just like she already started keeping barricades and bridges between Virat and her. Even for butterflies, this is the longest stage starting from 2weeks this may last years. So going by this virat is going to have a tough time. The indifference to the surroundings might increase once she starts college because she will be in her happy dreamland of becoming a doctor, her studies carrier, and bigger dreams. It should be virat who shouldn’t give up on sai and give that external push (love and care) to get the SAI- THE MATURE BUTTERFLY INTO THIS BEAUTIFUL WORLD.
# THE BUTTERFLY: THE SAVAGE-INDEPENDENT COMPOSED SAI
I don’t know when this stage exactly starts because I haven’t watched any other versions. This comes when she gets a degree in her hand. Along with the independence to choose her life partner (whether to live with him or not) she gets financial independence. She may not be the same hot-headed teenager but the traces of savageness will not go. If everything happens in this way then this will be like a never-before character growth for an ITV female lead (in recent times after Naina Agarwal/ Maheshwari from Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baath hain)\

so as we're done with sai in metamorphosis stages let's see some other significant symbolism which are related to butterflies which we can take away with the plot running in the show.
2. BUTTERFLY – REBIRTH.
Here rebirth doesn’t direct to the Janam punarjanam khands we watch on ITV. It’s the discovery of a new self within us. Virat will go through this stage, with him discovering his inner self which was compressed due to his orthodox household. He even learns the line between good, bad, and grey. His perspective changes which give rise to a whole new person –not Chavan khandhans spoon like ninad and omi.

3. Butterfly symbolizes new beginnings: PAKHI-SAMRAT; VIRAT-SAI AND
VIRAT-PAKHI – not the one like this but I genuinely wish virat and pakhi remain, friends because virat is the only one who cares for pakhi in that whole big CM without expecting anything in return. So there should be a point where they should let go of their past and start a new beginning as friends.

Finally
The butterfly represents soul connection, which we already started to feel with both Virat and sai. It represents their journey both as individuals and together. The butterfly represents love kuch bhi hojaye lekin the thing that lasts throughout the show is THE LOVE BETWEEN VIRAT AND SAI. (i think I've done my justification to my title)

p.s: sach kahun toh dar lag Raha hain, this is like my 3rd ITV show first two (KRPKAB and YUDKBH ) have set the bar so high, even this storyline gave me the same feel and I just went forward with the gut feel then started loving with the pace of the story and pendulum swings of the character arcs between good and grey –that is the main reason I invested my time here, hope they don’t ruin this one running back of TRP’S and uselessCV stunts.
