Disclaimer: I fully believe that Virat had absolutely NO intention of hitting Sai.
I understand that Kaju questioned his ability as an IPS, called him a pushover so in an effort to prove his capabilities, he made the baton remark.
Now, some people here are saying that Sai was absolutely wrong in assuming that he was about to hit her. I beg to differ. Anyone could have misunderstood the situation. I know my reaction would’ve been quite similar.
Kaku asked him how do you interrogate criminals, and he said the baton does it for me. SHE SMIRKS. Fine. BUT HE SMIRKS BACK?! Suddenly, EVERYONE’S SMIRKING. Then, how could Sai not assume what she assumed? Ek to vo andar aayi nahi ki, these piece of sh*ts started grilling her. If he expects her to trust that he won’t be violent with her (when he perhaps unintentionally implied otherwise), then shouldn’t he also believe that she wouldn’t go frolicking around in a park without informing anyone!? If she says it’s important, then it’s important. End of discussion.
Say, If she had gone to buy sanitary pads instead of going to Pakhi’s house, would Kaku like to hear that? I’m sure not!
Also instead of leaving that explanation midway, had he said “No that’s not what I meant at all, I would never hit you” and still Sai reacted the way she did, then yeah, she would’ve been at fault. But rn, it’s totally understandable that Sai reacted this way. Okay, maybe the “Jo kar nahi sakte vo boliye mat” stretched the scene a little. I think she should’ve stomped out before that.
