I just loved Sai today. In today's episode, it really felt like Sai is learning the art of choosing her battles well. And I was just so proud of her in today's episode.

And in the entirety of today's episode, I loved that Sai didn't find the need to call PP names, unlike PP, who called her matlabi, badtameez, ehsaan faramosh... that's what I like about Sai. The fact that she doesn't feel the need to put any one down unnecessarily.

Though I was disappointed with Sunny today, I don't entirely blame him, because, unlike PP and the other members in the Chavan family, he was actually concerned for Virat. Whatever he said to Sai was out of concern for Virat and not to taunt her, whereas PP, and even the rest of fam to some extent, were more concerned about talking down to Sai and less about Virat's job.

Now, Sai senses that PP is considering her a dushman. But she doesn't give a damn about that. And after today's episode, I hope that Virat also tries to see things from Sai's POV than just PP's.

I was talking about the Fort parallel, that was quite extraordinary yet suited extremely well!

I couldn't help but gloat over the pride that i felt for Sai when she returned to the Chakram niwas today. She aced it. But my heart wants more of this Sai-- tenacious and still as a rock. Since we have gone all out to make references to Chhatrapati Shivaji's history used subtly in the show, I am adding one more anecdote here:

So the battle lines are drawn -- between Sai and PP. They cannot be more defined than today, when PP, unhesitatingly hurled barbed jibes at Sai in full house -- "Ehsaan faramosh, matlabi biwi... Agar tum ne Virat ko fasane ka socha to hum me se koi tumhe nahi chhodhega..."

She is basking in the support she has from the family and her notion that Virat has finally begun to "regret" Sai. The feeling has fueled her audacity to the extent that she almost dropped her own pretense for a brief moment, when she offered her "Sympathy" to Virat in front of the family for having a "wife like Sai".

I want to highlight the one dialogue that may be missed because it was said in such an insignificant way but was SO HEAVY... Virat missed the most hurtful things said to Sai in his absence but whatever he heard when he arrived was enough to give him a sense of it -- these Chavans don't let you miss the drama even if you are late for the show 😆. The dialogue, "Is ghar me kisi ko pata nahi tha, siwaye Sunny aur Pakhi ke"... [I see it as his disappointment in PP and also in Sunny for going after Sai despite knowing the entire story, which others did not know. Sunny, boy, you did disappoint me today. THUMBS DOWN👎🏼👎🏼]

But in this entire scene, what I loved was SAI's silence. The entire living room sequence where she refused to tell anyone on her return and saying, "I have changed my mind, I don't want to say anything". I found her in a much better place than her constant retorts to everyone or her need to win arguments. Sometimes, you don't always have to fight to win a war. She fought for going out, but she did not need to fight when she was back because she had won the battle and she knew. "Khud bol kar kya tareef karwana!" Wah SAI Wah!👏👏

I want to see more of this quiet Sai. No, not the one, who silently bears everything but who can learn to let some things pass while standing her ground.

Her reaction to PP questioning her in front of the family, why did she visit Virat's office: Bang on. Lady, you have no reason to interfere in why I visited my husband's office.

Her silence to Bhavani and Sonali: Bang on. You really do not need to react, Sai. They don't deserve it.

Her reaction to PP when she accosted the husband-wife making way to their bedroom: BANG ON! Let her leave with her bags packed for all we could care. It was needed that she made it clear that if PP's interference happens because of her and in front of her, she has the right to speak. "Mere baare me ya mujhse judi kisi cheez (she looks at Virat) ke baare me bolengi to main bolungi".

But Sai, I still want you to eat your meal cold. Yes, cold. Remember, how Chhatrapati Shivaji, who was much known for his aggression in battles, learnt the art of slow tact, over a meal of simple khichdi. Here is the story:

We all know Shivaji as a valiant Maharaja of the Maratha Kingdom. But in his attempt to win back a lot of forts that his father Shahaji had lost to the Mughal invades, the young Chatrapathi Shivaji was keen on expanding his empire too fast. He fought brave battles and acquired many forts in quick succession, but there came a phase amidst these conquests that he failed in winning back some strategic battles and forts. It was because the territories he wanted to annex were of far more powerful kings, who had the backing of the bigger powers but Shivaji did not recognise the need to change his strategy. He was brilliant but unable to notice that he could expand slowly and cautiously because aggression was not getting him to his goal.

Legend has it that once, after one such failed conquest, Shivaji stopped at an old lady’s hut in a village and asked for food. The woman, not knowing that it was her king Shivaba and not a soldier mavla, served a plate full of steaming hot khichdi to him. As hungry as he was, Shivaji put his fingers right in the middle of the plate to grab a morsel and immediately pulled back his scaled hand. The old lady watched and shook her head and said, “Oh soldier! You are just like our Maharaj. You began eating this khichdi from the centre, which is always the hottest. Just like Maharaj attacks the central forts of kingdoms, instead of acquiring their periphery to weaken them first. Why don’t you eat from the corners of the plate first, which will cool faster than the center and as you progress the center will be in your hands.” It is said that Shivaji could only smile as he ate his khichdi. From there on, he first captured peripheral territories before attacking forts as part of the guerilla warfare, including Sinhagadh.

Patralekha has held her cards close to her but in her silent glares, which were dismissed for her forlorn looks, she has gauged Sai's weakness and also the ONE thorn in the bond Virat and Sai share-- Sai's tongue. We all have a problem when Virat chides Sai for "tameez" but the fact is that he does not mind her speaking so long as she can use some filters. And, honestly, there is no harm if Sai learns the tact. This is going to be a long battle in life and not always with PP alone.

Going forward, we know that PP's manipulative ways are going to test Sai's patience. As much as we might call her a cry baby, PP is clever too. She has recognized the fact that Sai can be "badtameez" when provoked and she has latched on to it. Her war tactic on Sai will now be to provoke her, assuming that Sai has no control over her emotions, anger and tongue, once she's incited. PP sees Sai as this loose cannon, who could fire shots in the direction that she wants -- pitting Sai against Virat in front of the family due to this "tameez" bit. Because all said and done she knows, Virat will, at some point, ask Sai to hold back and watch her words -- which he did. PP was banking on this momentary outburst of Virat as well as his momentary embarrassment at having Sai, which she saw as an opportunity to drive the wedge as well as hope of fitting herself in that space between them.

Sai, with all her instinct, has observed PP but only from the aspect of what she (PP) feels for Virat. But Sai is yet to see and recognise the STROKE that PP is trying to play against her to turn Sai's strength into her weakness. Yes, PP is treading on thin ice but often the shards of ice can be deadly weapons if they fall astutely, within range.

I am going to bring back the reference to NPD which Keshni (@Peppermint) explained so beautifully and so much in detail the other day. Yes, Sai, you are dealing with a narcissist, whose goal post right now is a "judi huyi cheez" with you - Virat. But, a narcissist can change goal posts too. The way to deal with it is to allow that hot plate of khichdi to cool down a bit - in this case, going a bit more 'respectful' with PP as the NPD post suggested. It will confuse her, make her judgment of you cloudy.

Sai, you are brilliant! You have rightly assessed that PP is not your nemesis, you are hers. And, so get your game right. Sit back and enjoy your khichdi, cold!
