This is gonna be a long one, so bear with me. 😆 I’ll talk about SaiRat first, before moving on to Pakhi.

If the missing Sai scene showed me something, it is that Sai is growing on him, and Virat will fall first, he will realize and then be in denial. The words he used will come to bite him later. Sai might forgive him this time, but she is not the type of person who forgets when people mess with her. I loved how she was telling Pakhi that she literally begged Virat to run away, but he didn’t.

What I want Virat to remember after this episode is that ONE Sai was not the cause of his problem, she was the solution. And she was right in front of him. Like Pakhi said he was so angry that he wouldn’t be able to see the solution, even if it is right in front of him. And TWO, she said that she’d go out, even with broken legs, if she has to. She is fiercely loyal (probably got it from her father) and the type of person who’d take a bullet for you, if she needs to (again, her father). Dear Virat, if there is anything about Sai that should attract you to her, it is this.

It seems to me that Sai is emotionally the strongest between the two. Despite the hurt and her bubbling anger, she saw the problem and the solution straightaway, while Virat was too lost in despair and a fear of what will happen next.

Please note that this is not a post to demean Pakhi’s character. I just want to point out some observations that I made about her. Pakhi may have Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) and is in dire need of therapy. I’ll walk you through some of the toxic signs she has displayed so far.

1) When narcissists behave in a manner that generates shame (EMA), they often use projection. (Projection is a primitive defense because it distorts or ignores reality in order for us to function and preserve our ego. When we project, we are defending ourselves against unconscious impulses or traits, either positive or negative, that we’ve denied in ourselves. Instead, we attribute them to others.) Projection is a way to cope with the discomfort that shame generates. Shame is a feeling that narcissists detests. Instead of dealing with their own shame, they try to project their own behavior on others and they do it frequently. She called Virat a cheater (without listening to him) and today, she seemed to suggest that Sai was off to a secret rendez-vous. So basically she knows what she wants from Virat, and this has generated a sense of shame, which she is offloading on others.

2) There is the feeling that’She hates me”, when I actually hate her. Remember when she said that I’m on your side Sai on the first day. She immediately assumed that Sai disliked her, that is because she herself dislikes Sai and pitted Sai as being against herself.

3) She has this inflated self-image of herself, that unrealistic sense of superiority. It was interesting how she said she wanted to eat cornflakes today when Bhavani asked her. Almost like showing Karishma that she is not to be messed with, because she has the support of Bhavani. In a way she was belittling her (another characteristic of a NPD. Ok, I know Karishma bullied her as well, but since she is displaying other characteristics, I wanted to point this out). Bhavani is actually fanning that dysfunctional behavior.

4) Lacking empathy – Pakhi has displayed this before, by asking about her position in her life, and through her outburst because of the lipstick. She does not stop and think, but immediately bursts in a way that makes you guilty. Moreover, she does not think twice about her actions, that’s why she really does not get it when Sai tries to establish a healthy boundary. When Sai has to handle Pakhi, she’ll have to do this in a gentle manner; in a way which shows Pakhi respect, because the last thing a narcissist wants is you disrespecting them.

5) Frequently demeans and bullies. Pakhi clearly feels threatened by Sai. Interestingly, her own marriage does not seem to be a hurdle for her. It’s not only Sai’s dynamics with Virat that she envies, it’s the love between Sai and Ashwini, and her ability to stand up for what she considers right (remember Pakhi was not allowed to leave the house, Sai tried today and nobody could stop her!), it’s the tact with which she handles Bhavani-Ninad.

So yes, Virat, you can take her to a therapist if you so wish. I will not flip, I swear😆

First of all, I love your views and thoughts . I eagerly wait for them 😆

Coming to your post! It sums it up all 👏

Yes, Virat is going to fall for her. All these misunderstandings are going to make way for their love story. Virat will soon realise his mistakes and understand how gem of a person Sai is. I hope he doesn’t try Sai-Pakhi Milan again and gives Sai her privacy.

Yes! Sai wasn’t the problem, she’s the solution 👏

Brilliantly put up babe

Virat needs to acknowledge it asap.

Whatever you said about Pakhi, I think you are right. She does exhibit all those characteristics.
Again, brilliant analysis 👏

She not only envies Sai for her relation with Virat, but she somewhere in her heart wants to be strong like her, but she isn’t half strong as Sai is. She has a weak mind.

When Virat will realise how obsessive Pakhi is, I wonder how he’ll react

@Bold- Word Keshni. I have been saying this from day one.

Sai is not letting him forget this ever.

@Red - He is already there.

In the end Pakhi will reveal her true colors herself.

nice post 👍🏼

responsibility eventually aadat banjaati hai that will soon transform into love.

dheere dheere he will feel protective about her as their bond grows and become stronger.

shurut keliye yeh buri nay hai, he already started developing feelings for sai. when she decided to sleep in other room, virat ko needh nay aayi😆

its just that virat bhi koyi kam stubborn nay hai. uske age ke hisaab se usme bhi bachpana hai.

this is the beauty of this show, leads hone ke baawjoob kisiko zyaada mahaan nay dikha rahe hai. which makes it more realistic to watch.

i just cant wait to see virat supporting sai and pakhi ko apni 'asli jagah dikhaye'

which i think will happen soon cuz i think sai will help Virat to get out of this professional mess that he is going through.

Keshni!!

Now, I know your name and it feels so much better than to call you "Pepper". I LOVED your analysis and reference to NPD. It is PERFECT.

Pardon me for digressing a bit and making it a bit too legally technical, but my take away from the episode was this very topic-- Why PP's joy and vaada are both going to be shortlived. Virat, today, has said it himself. I am not going to make another post but aapke ke post ko apna hi samajhne wali hoon 😆😆So let me start:

Law of Contract: In legal terms, a contract is an agreement between two private parties who forge a list of "mutual obligations", enforceable by law. Now, we know that the "vaadas" are not legally binding but they are contracts nevertheless --the types that one makes to self and to the receiver. However, the vaada/promise is not without a "consideration". There is something that both the parties need to execute in order for the contract of a promise to hold. The basic elements required for the contract (whether legally enforceable or morally) are: mutual assent to a 'consideration', the 'offer' and 'acceptance' (I am eliminating some other requirements that are needed in legal contracts as they don't apply to vaadas). So the operative word is "mutual assent".

Virat's warning to Sai about "jyada dino tak Kamal sir ko kiya hua vaada nibha nahi paunga" should have actually rung a bell with someone else -- the stray cat standing at a distance with the newly acquired Persian fur coat. Like I said yesterday, she will flaunt it and trot all over the place thinking that she has now earned the crown. But a cat being a cat, closes her eyes and drinks the milk, forgetting that the perceptive can see her persian coat slipping away to reveal her true identity of a stray cat😆.

(Disclaimer: My reference to the word stray cat is not meant to demean a woman but it is a metaphor for the conduct)

Virat, at the moment, continues to feel bound by the vaada that he made to PP because he has made it with all honesty unlike PP, who has made it for vile reasons that he does not know about. To Virat, the "consideration" for this promise is valid (in the moral realm of relationships) and he genuinely does consider her a "friend" because he does not want to leave her alone in a situation like that. PP, on the other hand, has accepted the promise but not kept the "consideration" that was the basis of this promise: to 'marry' Samrat-- not just for the sake of being married but to 'marry' in the true sense which is a meeting of mind, body and soul. Unfortunately, Virat is unaware that her 'assent' to this "moral contract" (However stupid it might be) was not made in the first place. So, technically, there is no "contract" read: vaada.

Now, as he begins to see the stray cat slipping out of the Persian coat, which he himself has gifted her, he will realise that his need to comply with the vaada does not exist. Because, if one of the two consenting parties has not lived up to the "consideration" for which the promise was made, then the promise/contract cannot be binding anyway. It will only make it easier for Virat to start moving towards breaking the vaada, one step at a time. Did I already see him cringe at the nasty comment PP made towards Sai? Curiosity kills a cat, but since most of us area aware of the overall storyline, we know that PP will soon be shown her place. I cannot wait for that to happen.

In case of the 'deal' with Sai, she is going to go out of her way to live up to the 'consideration' on which their contract is based. Because both of them have entered in it with honesty and intent to execute the contract from both ends. In fact, even when Virat feels that it is not a 'deal' any more, Sai will continue to call it one, no matter how much it might hurt her to continue to be true to it.

And, Sai being Sai -- he has said that 'jyada dino tak nahi nibha paunga' because he's emotionally charged -- but he knows that she is the one who will fiercely protect his kith and kin from any harm, selflessly, if the need be. He knows what she is capable of but Virat has been a disappointment in the handling of emergency situations. It takes me back to how Sai was in control of the entire sequence that followed after Kamal Joshi was shot. All he could do was watch her, shell shocked, instead of calling the shots. Virat's brain stops functioning at times when it's needed. This is the second time that Sai is in charge. She knows that she has to go and give her statement (kaisa UPSC topper hai ye aadmi, please check his marksheet once you are back in that room, Sai). He was losing his nerve thinking no one will testify from Gadchiroli in his favour. Chavan saheb, the woman you married is an ADULT and her statement will be taken at face value. (I am still keeping my brains aside for this entire track because it is too far away from the actual process due to cinematic liberty). So totally agree HOW he could not see that she is THE solution. And, Sai was right when she asked him, "You can discuss with her (PP) what, in fact, is something you and I have gone through and she has no idea about. You could have told me directly." But well, Sai, I understand he had already shut himself to you when you screamed at him for cleaning the mess on the floor. (Every wife goes through it and feels like grabbing the collar and shaking up the man, I get you)

I am going to let all this exchange between the husband and wife since Saturday, pass. I do not blame any one of them. It has actually made me realise how stupid husband and wife could seem at times to a third person (Thank God, we don't have PPs in our lives). Anger takes over your mind and it is true. I can actually see this as such a 'real' argument. Both of them are not thinking straight (Sai is doing a better job, but then her reputation for being stubborn is coming in the way although she's right). But they should really sit down when they have cooled down and when Virat gets it that she's actually defied the world and been ready to go out with her legs broken to "save" her "saviour" and talk this out -- was there any need for a third person to be in between them when the issue concerned only the two of them and would ultimately be resolved only by the two of them.

I did not understand:

1. "Are you trying to say I married you because I liked you and is that what you want to hear?" (Kyun Chavan saheb, aisa toh nahi ki aapke dil ki baat zubaan par aane wali hai? Because this is a million dollar Q ki why did you marry a difficult person like her? May be you wanted her to say that she wants to hear it... 'Connection' toh aapko pehle hi feel hua hai...aur ab itna bada bed khali pada tha but you still imagined Sinhagad there) and

2. "Mujhe laga tha aap imaandar hain, but aapki aai sahi kehti hai aap kuch nahi bolte" (found the dialogue a bit off the mark)

3. "Tumhe is ghar me apni jagah pata chal gayi" (I know she's going to come back and declare that Usha Maushi's room is her room now)

As I said, I am going to let all this rubbish talk between then PASS. Because when we are in an argument, we are so mad that we also say a lot of things purposely without meaning any of it, just to hurt the other person. (But Chavan Saheb, you have messed with Sai. She will not forget this so soon. Uske liye aap ko eventually bohat mehenat karni padegi)

Chavan khandaan ka toh kya kehna... naam bade, darshan halke phulke... I am so PROUD that Sai brought out the stick and handed it to Bhavani - todh dijiye taange, main phir bhi jaungi. I wonder, didn't Virat think "aisa kya zaroori kaam hai?" He will know soon and boy, you better, bang your head once somewhere. May be the loose wiring will get automatically fixed and transmit some light to your eyes.

Waise, Chavan saheb, aapne bola "Policewala hoon, Do minute me jhoot pakad leta hoon". Samajhla. Pann ek saanga zara, aapki best friend ke do minute kis country ke time se ginna shuru karein hum? I mean, aap pakad to loge na? Mujhe aapki kabiliyat par poora bharosa hai aur aapki pakki zabaan par usse bhi jyada so please, can I keep Maggi on fire already? 😆

I cannot wait for him to woo/beg her to return to their room on the other side of 'Sinhagadh'. Sai, you better ensure that the condition to return is a door tightly shut when the room is occupied.

Chalo, thank you, before I get branded as PP here, I must exit.

Have a great day!

Totally agree with everything you've said here!

Initially I did not appreciate the abrupt cut from clearly a breakfast scene to night-time and it felt a bit weird. Virat's missing Sai will soon manifest into not just missing the badbad but the human with a beating heart that does the badbad. I understand the plot device as he's still supposed to be cross, but I was a bit sad that he did not introspect on his words from the AM at all. It would have been a wonderful reverse sequence of when Sai felt uneasy for saying too much. Hopefully that comes tomorrow once his fiesty wife has saved his behind.

His two things to remember: You've put it so well. I thought that dialogue was completely unnecessary about the one who is the root cause is trying to feed me (sigh, not to be confused with dear wife Sai). Living room drama, while it was slightly OTT, I liked that the more they prodded her, the more determined she was not to show her plan to the family. Secretly I want to think, she didn't want to get one-upped by PP by the latter taking credit for it saying..>OFCOURSE mere many many machureeee baaton se Sai has taken this decision. Wouldn't put it past her to do it for reasons you've explored in the post. Loved that Sai called out the bluff of Bhavani....that was a treat to watch.

I want Virat to think about the consequences of his statements and the effect it would have on the psyche of a person. She's been battered by everyone at home, and the one avenue of connection that she has to this house is also holding her responsible. I don't necessarily want it to be be-izzati ka badla, but more a project in exploring how hurtful it is when you say things off the cuff.

Pakhi

This was a weird one, I actually thought in the AM scene she was saying the right things and prodding him along the right way, recognising that there is the need for calm, rational thinking. Ofcourse, since no-one else but Sai managed it, I don't know if she'd actually be pleased with the outcome.

Agree with all other character traits. She is deeply insecure and perhaps does deserve a few therapist sessions to help unravel the cobwebs in her mind. The only thing I don't think will happen is the treatment of PP when the support flips. I think people will disrespect her and not be gentle. (only for fireworks)

Two other things that I liked (one quickly regressed, the other thing sort of made me happy).

  1. Ninad for whatever brief 20 seconds seemed to see the difference in behaviour between PP and Karishma, and made the case for her. His little word of support made his brother happy. Like i said, this quickly regressed into unrequired motor mouthness.
  2. Can I also say I laughed so hard when Sai said why do you keep providing vishesh tippany in situations that have nothing to do with you (as that was exactly the turn of phrase that was running in my head).

Finally --> All despair and everything set aside (and I know it is drama)...why is Virat not able to think of a simple solution after 24 hours. His whole job is predicated on being in stressful situations and acting fast. If he can't get himself out of a fix, how is he even going to think tactfully in an actual work situation!! I really wish Indian TVs didn't chip away at the true essence of people's jobs.

Sorry for the really long reply :)
