That's pretty obvious. If you want to understand Aditya's mindset, look no further than Befikre.
All his solid films had his father's touch.
But, back then people actually thought otherwise. That, Yash had become old and it was Aditya who was ghost directing all his father movies (before DDLJ). Sr Chopra's contribution was only musically.

I can never believe that Lamhe, Darr and Befikre are directed by the same man

even if DDLJ is all Aditya ...its not very different than yash raj format. Also,One trick pony ... DDLJ, RNBJ, Befikre ...its all the same. Punjabi Nri's , reminiscing over chandigarh sarson ka kheth and mommy giving gyan to NRI born-bred beti on patiarchy and break free for once...
Was Dil To Pagal Hai ghost directed by Aditya Chopra?
It was so youth centric, seemed like it was directed by a young director.
but we all know ddlj was not written by Aditya Chopra but honey Irani
Jab Tak Hai Jaan was very like very bad
Because DDLJ was Aditya's dream film.
He had the idea of the film ever since he was a teenager. His mother said something like this in the "making of .." video of the film.
But off-course he must have had guidance from his father too.
Salim Javed used to ghost direct almost all their movies. They had the power to cast the hero, choose producers, directors, could dictate the director... it used to be a team work. (Watch MAMI's Mr. India cast and crew chat) So yeah Yash Chopra's post 80s films were ghost directed by Adi and vice versa. Adi-Yash were a team... ek director the toh dooja writer-producer... toh latter could have his own inputs.
