It was almost evening, Rajat had been very secretive about their plans for the evening. Paridhi was busy getting ready, Rajat had told her to dress like his princess. She wondered what that was. But she just couldn’t decide what to wear. “Oh God, kya pahnu,” she sat down on her bed frustrated. Her bed was scattered with her clothes. Then she got up and went to the intercom, and dialed her boudi. “ Boudi, arre help na yaar, come to my room.” She said in the receiver.
After some time there was a knock on the door, she ran and opened the door. It was her boudi, “ What you are still in your bath gown? Kya kar kya rahi ho tum?” She asked Paridhi. “ Arre boudi what can I do I can’t decide on what to wear.” Paridhi answered “ You don’t know how excited I am about today. I want it to be the best for Rajat.” Piyali came into the room and looked at her bed. She banged her head with her hand. “ Let me see. Hmmm,” Piyali picked up a top and said. “ Indian or Western?” She asked “ I don’t know, he told me to dress like his Princess.” Paridhi answered. Piyali looked around. Then picked up a noodle strap green brocade churidar with a simple tissue dupatta. “ This one, and....” she went to the box of jewellery and picked up a pair of big green jhumkis “ this one.” She said.
Rajat had been waiting impatiently in the lobby. “ yaar these girls take so much time to get ready.” Rajat thought. He took out his mobile and was about to dial Paridhi’s number when he saw Paridhi walk in. He stopped in his track she looked beautiful in the green brocade churidar, she had left her hair open. He was transported to the night after he had returned from the war with mahachuchak begam.
“ He had just walked in to the harem and into her chambers, when he was greeted with the fragrant fumes of rose and jasmine. He looked around and saw the room decorated with candles, the bed was strewn with white and red rose petals. She came into the room from the hamam holding a brass insense burner, spreading the rooms with frangrant fumes. She wore a pista green lehenga , her choli was sleeveless and had strings on her back. He was mesmerised.”
Rajat stood spellbound, “ Yes his princess, his Jodha, his love, his life.”
Paridhi stood at the entrance of the lobby an looked on at her Rajat, she had seen him in formals for the first time, he wore a charcoal grey silk suit and a blue silk shirt , that was open at the neck. His hair was gelled and brushed back. He looked elegant and hot.
Rajat had his hand in his pocket and he was fingering the small box in his pocket. He felt a little nervous. She walked gracefully up to him, he took her hand in his and kissed it. “ You look beautiful.” He said looking into her eyes. “ Let’s go we are getting late.” They went to the driveway where the hiered car was waiting. They left.
Before getting of the car, Rajat blindfolded Paridhi and led her to the restaurant. He was greeted at the door of 1135 AD restaurant inside Sheesh mahal Amer fort. He had booked the whole silver room as he wanted time alone with Paridhi. They were led to the silver room, he had ordered them to prepare a table from where all of Amer was visible. He led Paridhi to the table then opened the blindfold. Paridhi opened her eyes and looked around, her eyes took time to adjust. Then she gasped, they stood under the sky. Countless stars were visible, she went up to the parapet and looked beyond the whole of Amer fort and Amer was visible, it was beautiful. “ This is so beautiful just perfect” She said twirling around. She stopped to look at Rajat who was smiling happily, she ran and gave him a tight hug. “ Thanks Rajat this is perfect.” She chirped happily. “ Not so fast the evening has just began, come lets sit.” He said leading her to their seat. They sat down. Rajat had ordered champagne for themselves. The dishes started coming to the table. Rajat held Paridhi’s hand in his, they twined their hands together. They were lost in eachother. “ Do you remember the time we took the boat rides in the lake near Amer, Or the time we went to camp at the forests near Agra,” Rajat asked. “ I haven’t forgotten anything ever. It was always their at the back of my mind.” Paridhi answered. Rajat picked up her hand to his lips, and kissed it lightly “ No one had given me the amount of happiness you brought into my life Pari, you turned me into Akbar from, Jalal. You were all I thought about from the time I saw you in my last life to this life. I have lost you once, I don’t want to lose you ever again.” Rajat said in a soft voice. He got up from his seat, put his hand in his pocket and took out the small box and went and knelt down in front of Paridhi, Paridhi had tears in her eyes, tears of happiness rolled down her eyes, Rajat took her hand, open the box, nestled in the satin lined box was a diamond ring, it had one big diamond and two smaller diamonds it was beautiful. He slipped it in her hand and said “ Paridhi Ganguly, will you marry me, will you promise to be mine in every life.” He said looking at her with intense eyes. She touched her cheek with her free hand and smiled through her tears, “ She nodded “ Yes... yes...yes.”she said. Rajat smiled and stood up, then held her by the shoulder and twirled her around.
They were having the best time of their life. They were lost in each other. They did not care about there surroundings anymore. They had finished there dinner. They had walked up to one of the umbrella on top of the fort, and sat there looking out at the city of Amer. Paridhi leaned back on Rajat’s chest, Rajat bend down and kissed her on her bare shoulder. Paridhi closed her eyes. Rajat was nibbling on her ears. He slowly pulled down her strap and kissed her there. “Lets leave,” he said kissing her cheek again. “ I want you in my arms fully.”
Rajat was at the cash counter and Paridhi was waiting at the gate. Suddenly she felt her shiver run down her body, then she felt some wishpering in her ear “ follow me" the voice said. She went into a trance.
Rajat had finished paying, and turned around to Paridhi to tell her they would leave soon, but saw that she was missing “ Paridhi... Paridhi...” he shouted and ran to the driveway he saw her further up walking towards the main gateway, “ Paridhi...Paridhi, stop.” He screamed, he ran behind her as fast as he could and caught hold of her from behind. He went in front of her and what he saw shocked in place of her iris her whole eyes were white. It scared him, she was in a trance, she looked like she couldn’t recognize him, “ Paridhi where are you going?” he said trying to stop her. But she ignored him and kept walking away. He caught her again, but she gave him a hard push he flew through the air and fell a few meters away. Rajat was shocked. Rajat was a well built strong man. From where had she gotten this kind of strength? He got up and followed her. He did not stop her again. He just followed her. He dialed Parthas number, he picked up on the fourth ring “ Yes hello can you guys along with Dr, and Prof, and Dr Srivastav please come down to the edge of the forest, I'll meet you there.” He said. He understood that she was being led into the forest. He followed her from a distance. As he reached the edge of the forest he saw that others were waiting there for him. He went up to them. As Paridhi passed them. Partha tried to stop her but to no avail. Ravi pulled him away “ Don’t ...Rajat you try.” Ravi said. Rajat ran forward and held Paridhi’s hand “Jaan don’t leave me... how can you on our special night” he said softly, she jerked her had away. “ Please... Pari, I love you.” Rajat said Paridhi's body contorted in pain, “Aaaaaahhhhhh, Rajaaaaat save me, he is takeing me with him. Nooooo I don’t want to go, pleeeeaaaaase let me go Sahanshaaaaaaaaaaaah.” She fell on her knees screaming in agony. Rajat ran to her, and held her tight, Paridhi fainted.
They were back at the hotel. Rajat sad next to Paridhi near the bed. Everyone else was standing around. “ What is going on Ravi?” asked Rajat in a desperate voice. “ This is the first phase of possession.” Said Ravi. “Come on, yaar someone do something.” Shouted Rajat. “Look let her rest. We will think about it.” Said Ravi. “ I'll check on the net to see if there is anything we can do to stop it.”
