It’s because Patiala Babes was on Sony and Sony’s shows barely get TRPs. SP is a much more popular channel and Anupama was heavily promoted on SP, plus the Ph is big too.

I would say Patiala Babes’s story was different than Anupama though. PB was a mother-daughter story, with the male lead (who is the mother’s love interest) being their biggest support. PB was a class apart show, at least for like 200 episodes, but they ruined the last 30 or so episodes of S1 by making the FL a villain, and clipped the wings and empowerment she did gain. Itni buri tarah se they butchered her character na, I am still not able to fathom. That is the pettiest I have seen, they did this because of favoritism for one actor 😡. Otherwise, it was such an amazing show, one of the best on ITV imo.
Hopefully in Anupama show, they do justice to Anupama’s emancipation and empowerment.

PB showed empowerment in better way. Specifically liked d divorce track. What a performance by all. 👌👌👌

True that..I have nothing against the movie as far as the theme or the subject it was based on is concerned. It did depict reality in certain ways. An important takeaway also perhaps was that doesn't matter even if its actors like SRK and Rani playing those characters, we would end up loathing cheating and cheaters just the same.

Rani's character cries a lot in the movie so I doubt Rhea would like to pick that part 😆 I have chosen actors even for the other main parts as though am the casting director and the movie's really getting remade 😆 No points for guessing who plays SRK 😉

She did enough crying for mishti's role. Whole surrogacy drama, she was full disinterested. It was showing in her performance also. No impact nothing. Openly expressed her displeasure for dis also.🌚🌚

Yeah I know they showed the empowerment really well for Babita during divorce and after divorce track (that’s what I am saying), but but but they took all that empowerment away from her after she gets married to HS by showing that she doesn’t care for her business (that she had started with such difficulty) and independence. It was the most absurd thing ever, they took a 360 turn to her character and butchered her character. Aniruddh and Paridhi both were pissed off at how their characters were butchered, Paridhi didn’t even shoot her last scenes. She just left after her contract was over 😆. The PH deserved it.

Trust me it was so stupid, they legit went back and undid everything for the past 200 epis to victimize Mini. And then they killed HS and Babita at the end, and brought S2 with focus on Mini’s journey. Anywayyy this is when you know even if they have great content, ITV cannot do justice to its shows. 😆.

Anupama’s empowerment and independence track hasn’t even started i believe. Hopefully they execute it well.

From being her mother’s strongest support system, Mini suddenly became a crying victim, feeling abandoned by her mother and Hanuman uncle! 🤪 And that too after she herself got her mom married to Hanuman uncle! What the heck! 😵
Killing off HS Babita just to make Mini the central character was unforgivable! I thought I couldn’t hate a PH more but now hating DKP equally or more for how they deliberately destroyed YRHPK! God knows why these deluded PHs kill their own beautiful creations after a year or so, just to favor one character/ actor or to favor another show of their own (DKP)

I’ve seen a lot of repeated bashing of KANK on BW forum. Most people hate the movie because it supposedly supports infidelity in marriage. But it’s certainly not supporting cheating, it’s just presenting the messy side of EMA and what happens when couples drift apart. Worst was SRK abandoning his kid! Couldn’t digest that!

Who would do SRK’s role? Shaheer? 😆

Phir toh I would want Rhea in Rani’s role 😛😳

Or better still Shah in Abhishek’s role, Rhea as Rhea and story changed to Rhea and Abhi hooking up after their divorces.

Ughh tell me about it, I hated KK with a passion like I haven’t hated any other PH, not even Ekta 😆. They claimed to be a realistic creative team, portraying a realistic story about woman empowerment, and then they made their FL a doormat housewife by undoing her entire 200 episodes of empowerment journey.. Apparently Babita didn’t really care for empowerment and independence after all, bullshit 😡.

People used to call Mini, Gopi Bahu 😆... They made her so mahaan, sacrificial lamb who would sacrifice everything for her mother, instead of being sympathetic towards Mini, everyone started disliking her mahaan character 😆. The way they made Mini victim na, it was so forced. Babita and Mini would clash on their ideologies and the writers always presented like Babita’s ideology was wrong (even though she might have been right in her POV), and Mini’s was presented as the right one. Hanuman Singh’s amazing character was also ruined to some extent to further victimize Mini. Aise production house kabhi nahi dekha who would ruin their own story and characters because of obsession for one character/actor, that also a child-artist. 🤪
I remember the entire forum was on a meltdown. The writers started blocking people on Twitter, starting having arguments and justifying why Babita’s character took a 360 turn. It was a whole lot of drama and craziness 😂. But that show was par apart, a really good written show that was ruined because of favoritism for one actor. It’s sad to think about it. Everyone in IF I remember were so badly affected by it, cuz we were so attached to the show, the discussion page would complete 100 pages or so everyday.

After this I learned never to get attached to an ITV show 😂. This is probably the only show I watched start to finish of season 1.

Oh I didn’t know DKP did the same as I haven’t followed initial yrhpk epis. These Phs and favoritism ughh 😡.

Yes my dear, I know all about what that PH did and the outrage on the forum and all the long discussions and analysis on PB forum. I used to frequent that forum almost regularly though not as active as on BW forum back then. I think I remember your ID and also inlieu(Jean) and some others.
The most infuriating part was that the first 200 episodes of PB were so good, just excellent, I never missed a single episode! The rebellious daughter’s exit with her mom, their struggle to survive (uff how we cursed out Ashok and his mom), Mini as her mother’s strength, babita slowly coming into her own, gaining confidence and becoming an independent entrepreneur, then a celebrity, even the other woman wasn’t portrayed as an outright vamp, and of course the beautiful, awesome, adorable character of Hanuman Singh, the only other feminist hero apart from our initial Abir! 😍

It was such a perfectly acted, written, directed show and then they ruined it all when HS babita got married. Why do these ITV writers always ruin every story after the leads get married? 😕
They butchered Babita’s character completely by showing her so backward minded, only content to be a wife, not caring about the business for which both she and mini shed blood sweat and tears
At least they kept HS more or less sane and awesome till his forced death!
