Chapter 13
Sometimes what you desire the most not necessarily need it;
but what you need the most you don’t realize it.
"Falling in love, at first sight, is easy. It's like getting hit by lightning. You can't fail to notice it. But figuring out feelings that you don't know you had...Well, that's a different story. You don't know if you got the right person or not and it's as confusing as hell. You hesitate and then you lose the timing. You're left in a state where you can't do anything."
She remembered those words. Kabir was her first love no doubt in it. So when she learned about his betrayal something broke in her. She isn’t sure of her feeling for him now but trust was something she always had in him. So when that trust broke a lot of other things broke inside her. Vansh always says that he can forgive anything but not the betrayal of his trust. She did not understand it then but she gets it now when her own trust got broken that so brutally. Knowingly or unknowingly, intentionally or unintentionally she did betray him at one point, or at least she intended to. Isn’t that way she came into his life in his house, to begin with in the first place.
Then there is Vansh who had been there for her at the time she needed him the most. Honestly, she never really expected it from him when he protected her and took care of her. The man who says he hates betrayers yet he took care of her even after knowing what she did and intended to do to him in the past. Then what intend to do now with him? What does she want from him? She did not know. Most importantly what does she feels for him now? She wondered because Vansh for sure still harbours feelings for her thought Ragini.
Oh, she can see it. Why else did he take care of her after everything else? Does he expect anything? A future together with her maybe she concluded. Would she go back to him if given the opportunity? If no then there is nothing to think about anymore and if yes is she ready for all the complications and opposition that is bound to arise? Does she wants him or is just grateful to him? Then isn’t he married now? Why would he marry someone else if he has feelings for her and what about his wife Riddhima? If Vansh still holds affections for her why did he married Riddhima? Is he playing some sort of game with either of us? If yes then how is he any different than Kabir? Is she ready to take the risk?
There is also Riddhima, Vansh’s wife. She could see Riddhima is a nice girl the way she took care of her even after knowing the relationship she shared with her husband in the past along with their history says a lot about her the kind of a person she is. Does she know about the feelings of her husband for me? If yes what is her stand in all of this? If no then is she another victim here just like herself? There is just so much and she did not know where to begin with maybe from where it all began Kabir. She needs to meet him and have a talk with him.

“It felt nice. We should do it more often.”
Riddhima said to Sejal with closed eyes head held slightly up basking in the heat of evening sun slowly going down announcing the end of yet another day and arrival of the night. With everything that was going on it felt suffocating for Riddhima in the house.
So Sejal took the responsibility of cheering her up upon herself and after taking permission from Dadi both friends came out to the beach for a day out away from the chaos of VR Mansion and its ignorant and self-seeking residents.
“Told ya. All you needed was some fresh air outside the madhouse. It happens anyone can get sick if they breathe polluted and toxic air for too long and god knows how noxious the air of VR Mansion is.”
Sejal said with narrowing eyes than with a serious look on her face and a voice like trying to solve some conspiracy. One can though easily detect mischief there making a chuckle escape from Riddhima’s mouth.
Turning around to Sejal, Riddhima threw a handful of water at her and burst out in laughter looking at Sejal’s face. That was enough to bring the bratty Sejal out making Riddhima run while she chases her trying to wet her from head to toe.
Playing and fooling around both friends got tired and sat down on the rock in a corner of the beach gazing at the last of the rays of the setting sun.
“I am hungry.”
Announced Sejal standing up once again she asked
“Do you want something? I am going to look around for something to eat.”
“I don’t know. See if you get something. You know my taste.”
Riddhima said answering her.
“Cool,”
saying so Sejal left from there in search of some food to cool down the war that was raged in her stomach.
Riddhima was sitting alone enjoying the view when she suddenly saw Ragini with Kabir. Little confused she went forward hidden from both the people’s view. Going a little further she heard the conversation between them.
“I am so sorry Ragini. I am really sorry. I made the terrible mistake of betraying you. I did not realize how much I loved you till you were gone from my life. Now that you are back I want you back in my life. Can you find in yourself to forgive me and take me back?”
asked Kabir with a guilt-filled voice, a pleading look on his face. Riddhima was surprised and for a moment she might have believed him had she not known better.
Kabir was playing again, manipulating again, but the question is, is he being successful or not? Is Ragini believing him and coming under his manipulation again or not?
“You know how much I have loved you Kabir and obsessively at that? I could have killed for you Kabir and I could have died for you and yet you betrayed me like that. Even now though I know you are lying to me I can’t help but want you.”
Ragini said with tears and rage in her eyes and face.
Riddhima could clearly see one thing Ragini was an obsessive lover and not that usual one but a crazy obsessive one even psychotic to an extent. There were traces of a certain kind of madness that existed at one point in her.
Though Ragini might have been that way at one point when it came to Kabir but is she still the same?
“So tell me, Kabir, what do you want from me now? Oh, right there is only one thing you care about. You want me to bring proof against Vansh so that you can send him to jail. Isn’t it? Alright, I’ll do it for you. Then what? Would you still want me in your life? Am I still going to be the one you want and desire or just merely a pawn for you to use and get done with it? Think well Kabir and answer it you know how crazy I am and how crazy I can get.”
Ragini said with a crazy look in her eyes.
“If you managed to this Ragini I promise you, you are going to be the happiest girl alive. I’ll give you all the love you want and everything you desire.”
Kabir said walking forward towards Ragini with an equally crazy look that was reflecting on her face.
Looking around a little further Riddhima saw Vansh was standing looking at the couple. He hadn’t noticed Riddhima and was far enough that Riddhima was sure he hadn’t heard a single word exchanged between Ragini and Kabir but he surely saw both of them.
Once again she turned and looked at the duo and heard Ragini say
“Wow, some unconditional love you have Kabir. I’ll rather choose Vansh and have him then return to you. You know he still loves me and has me even now. I just need to say it to him and that’s what I am going to do.”
with a sarcasm and a sad smirk then determined. Then without saying another word walks away from Kabir with an unreadable expression on her face.
Riddhima too turned to go back but not before noticing Vansh and Kabir leaving in their car and jeep, one with satisfaction on his face and later with little worry on his respectively.
Turning around she saw Sejal was standing there with a sad smile and tears in her eyes reflecting her own. Forwarding her favourite vanilla flavoured ice-cream towards her she came towards her and said with a weak voice
“Look babes here what I got for you.”
And just like that Riddhima broke down with heartbreaking sobs and cries falling on her knees. Rushing towards her Sejal too went on her knees and held her in her own arms. With misty eyes trying to calm her down and control her own cries at the state of Riddhima.
Walking on the beach barefooted with waves of the sea hitting their feet’s both girls roam in comfortable silence with a gloomy atmosphere. After a long time Riddhima calmed down and now here they are. She felt empty from inside like with her tears something else cascaded away from her.
Sejal said,
"she needs to be strong but it was her emotions that were making her weak. So in order to be strong, she needs to be over with feelings that she still held somewhere for Vansh.”
Thought Riddhima.
“This is the last time I will be shedding tears for any of them. I need to get over my feelings and for that, I need to start distancing myself away from Vansh emotionally from now on. No matter what he does or what happens to him should matter to her.”
Decided Riddhima determined.

He was happy, satisfied even. Today when he saw Ragini walking out of the house he followed her out of curiosity and concern. Then when following her he reached the beach and saw her with Kabir, he was disappointed and sad thinking she might leave him and go back to Kabir once again. Then for some reason, he stood there and he was glad that he did. Though he did not hear their conversation but looking at their expression he was sure things weren’t quite hunky-dory between them.
Vansh could detect anger in Ragini, of course, she still held some feelings for Kabir but it was dying. It wouldn't be long before Ragini would move on and come to him. In fact, the way Kabir looked a little disturbed surely means something good for him. Now, all he needs to do is deal with Riddhima soon and kick her out of the house and his life as soon as possible. After that, he doesn’t give a damn what happens with her.
Honestly, he was getting tired of pretending all day and night in front of her and his family. Though nowadays his real feelings for the person he wants are coming out even in front of the family. He knew his family is also noticing and no one really cares except of course for Dadi, Sia, and Ishani. As far as Riddhima is concerned she trusted him. Though his Dadi and sisters aren’t happy about it they will understand as time passes and slowly will come to accept his feelings and respect it.
Once he has done with Riddhima he would reveal her truth in front of everyone after that no doubt they will accept Ragini and come to hate Riddhima as much they love her now. Not that people in this house really care about her and loves her except for Dadi and Sia. So there shouldn't many problems for him after his so-called wife is gone for good. Lost in his thought Vansh saw Ragini entering the house from the front door and a smile came on his face looking at her.
Walking inside the house she looked up and saw him looking at her with a smile. Returning a smile she walked up to him.
“Hi”
she greeted Vansh getting a
“Hey”
in return from him.
“a… a... I wanted to thank you and apologize for everything I did in the past with you. Even after I tried to betray you, you took me in and took care of me. I wish I would have met you before I met Kabir things would have ended up quite differently for both of us.”
Ragini said with hesitation.
“You don't have to thank me. I did what I have to. And as for sorry you tried but you didn’t Kabir manipulated you into it. Glad you realized his true face now. So let’s forget the past and start afresh from here on.”
Vansh said reassuringly to her.
“So how did you meet Riddhima? She seems to be a nice girl love marriage or arranged?”
with little curiosity and little hopefulness underneath it in her voice, Ragini enquired in.
“Why so curious? Jealous?”
Vash asked her teasingly and a bit flirtingly as well. Smiling a bit at him looking down feeling a little shy Ragini said:
“No, nothing like that just generally I was asking you.”
With a smirk on his face, Vansh said
“Well, then I’ll tell you everything if you agree to go out for a dinner with me. Your favourite place.”
With a smile on her face, Ragini agreed to it.

Looking at both her husband and his ex Riddhima entered the house hearing their conversation along with Sejal following her. Without saying a word she walked away to her room without either of the people noticing her and Sejal tailing her.
Reaching her room she took a change of clothes and necessities for the night and to the room Sejal was occupying.
“We are having a sleepover. It’s been a long since we pulled an all-night movie marathon, popcorns, and stuff. Order some pizza.”
Announcing and ordering Riddhima went into the bathroom for change leaving behind a confused Sejal.
Then with a shrug, she proceeded to do as asked. The next day everyone was going out due to certain engagements of everyone.
Hence they can afford to oversleep without worrying about anyone and anything for a day since no one is going to be home for a full day.
