Chapter 10

In the art of war, if you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the approaching battles.

But if you know only yourself and not the enemy, for every victory, there will also be defeat

While I was growing up in the orphanage, the matron of the house told me, "If you think you're alone, you'll become weak and controlled by people. You're not alone. Call out everyone who loved you, everyone who loves you now, and everyone who will love you in the future." Today I truly know what she meant. Seeing Sejal with me is making me so happy. The one on whom I can lean on.

While being in my thoughts, I went to check on Ragini once and was surprised to see Vansh with her. The truth is I shouldn't be surprised to see him with her. But, I never thought to see him with her in such daylight. It has been two weeks, in these two weeks, I have seen Vansh being proactively taking care of every minute details and things needed for Ragini. Dadi sometimes does come near me and try to change the topic. However, I can study her feelings too.

I tried to move from the place howbeit Vansh calls me from the back and asks,

"You here?"

Ridhima: I came to check on Ragini. But, I didn't know you were here in the house to check up on everything.

Vansh: (smirks) Are you jealous Mrs Vansh Rai Singhania.

Ridhima: If you want to push me away from this relationship, then date someone good enough that can accept you with and without everything you have. Then I'll get probably jealous of that person.

Vansh was shocked by such kind of response from her. He never expected her to give such confident replies to him. He thought she might crib over Ragini and his attention towards his ex-finance over her. But here, Ridhima doesn't feel anything. Is she in love with him or not? What kind of love it is if there is no jealousy?

Ridhima: What happened? Lost somewhere?

Vansh: In you, Ridhima

Ridhima: (with no emotion on her face) Don't repeat these words ever, Vansh. Because, your eyes, even though they are looking at me, strangely, it seemed like they are looking somewhere else.

Vansh doesn't understand her. These days everything she does and speaks is something he is unable to read. He can feel it. Ridhima is Ridhma because of her curiosity and the way she wants to know more about everything in the world. However, these days she behaves as if she knows everything. She is nothing like before. Even to toy with her feelings, it's not being possible due to the standard emotions she is carrying.

While I go back to my room, I see Sejal sitting on Vansh's chair and having an apple.

Sejal: What happened my love?

Ridhima (with a deadpan voice): If I say nothing, would you believe me and leave it?

Sejal: Nope

Ridhima: Thought so. Shall I say what happened to me?

Sejal: (laughs) Something with Vansh and Ragini

Ridhima: You always read my thoughts

Sejal: Jaaneman, until I'm with you, I will make sure to keep you happy. To which, reading your mind is very important (laughs)

Ridhima smiles along with her and asks Sejal,

"Okay, tell me what happened? What are you doing in this room now?"

Sejal: Don't you want to discuss our next steps?

Ridhima: Before the next steps, tell me what happened between you, Chachi and Aryan? They are quite weird with you around?

Sejal: I gave a very subtle warning to Chachi and Aryan?

Ridhima: Subtle warning? Sejal, if you subtle anything I can understand what kind of warning it would be? I need details. Tell me

Sejal: (With a grumpy face) Okay, Okay. Fine gosh so bossy you are. Listen now

Flashback

Sejal was walking in the garden thinking about the next plan of action and she comes face to face with the little devils of the house - Chanchal, and Aryan according to her.

Aryan: What are you playing with Sejal?

Sejal looks hither and thither and says,

"Playing? Do you see any other person to play me with? Oh, my fingers," (with a stupid smile) "This I'm playing with my hair. You see my mother says I'm losing so much hair by playing," (complainingly a bit with a frown)

Aryan: Shut up! Stop fooling with me.

Sejal closes her mouth with her hands and walks away whereas Chanchal gets angry with her and pulls her back and questions,

"What do you want?"

Sejal: Uff, you guys are so weird. Always asking what I want. Instead, it should be me asking you both (pointing with her finger at both of them respectively) what you people want from me? Why are you behind me?

Aryan: Why didn't you reveal anything?

Sejal: Reveal what?

Aryan: Don't play with fire, Sejal

Sejal: Don't use Vansh's dialogues on me. Those lines suit perfectly between Vansh and Ridhima. You and I don't share such chemistry, Aryan.

Aryan pulls Sejal towards him and looks into her eyes says,

"I'm asking why you didn't reveal about we both kidnapped you two months ago either to Ridhima or to the family. Why?"

He pulls her more closely and says,

"And, listen, you are not a girl material at all tomboy. I'm not gay to date you. So never say I'm interested in you."

Furious is what Sejal felt, "as if" huffingly she thought, then narrowing her eyes said,

"And what makes you think that I could possibly imply the biggest horror of my life. For all, I meant was those words and attitude does not suit you neither am I Riddhima to take shit from a loser like you. So back off" spat Sejal making Aryan back off a bit. Then folding her hands and rolling her eyes said "Fine then. The truth is Ridhima loves this family a lot. Due to which she left you both while you badmouthed her and your mother made sure Ridhima gets humiliated on the day of Ajay uncle's Shradh. For me the most important person is Ridhima and I don't want her to get hurt for whatever reason. But, that doesn't mean I will leave you both. Remember, never and ever don't talk to me in a lesser tone and never drag me like your servant. I'm Sejal. Remember my name. If not, I will make sure you forget your name."

Sejal leaves the place whereas Aryan and Chanchal left fuming in a helpless condition.

Flashback ends

Ridhima: Wah! What an amazing confrontation. However, please be careful Sejal. Whatever you eat or drink, check twice. Make sure you tell me everything that happens to or with you. I cannot lose you Sejal.

Sejal: Remember what Maa said, "If we choose to, we can live in a world of comforting illusions. We can allow ourselves to get deceived by false realities. Or we can use them to hide our true intentions.” Now, we need to use illusions to make others trust us and play with them. It's time for payback Ridhima. I know you are worried about me. I also worry about you. However, it's you who wanted to teach Kabir and Vansh a lesson. So we are into this. Now don't let your fears rise above our plans to destroy them? I will be safe. I promise. Okay?

Ridhima: What about Kabir?

Sejal: Oh God! What to do with this tension cooker? I will make sure everything gets sorted in no time. Okay?

Ridhima: No, tell me, what are we planning to do with Kabir?

Sejal: Right now, I want to discuss our plans regarding Vansh let's say, we are going to make Vansh look bad before Dadi eyes. The story can work on lines like - how Vansh is neglecting Ridhima in taking care of Ragini. How Vansh is choosing Ragini over Ridhima. Due to this Dadi, the biggest supporter of Vansh will start to lose trust in him not entirely but still.

Ridhima: But what Kabir will gain from this idea?

Sejal: If Vansh loses the trust of Dadi, then Dadi will ask him to gain her faith back? That can only happen if he would make sure to give an exit to Ragini from his life and VR Mansion. So it allows Kabir to take care of Ragini?

Ridhima: Do you think this will work and Kabir will trust you?

Sejal: He will Ridhima. Because he feels right now, you are jealous of Ragini. So he will do everything in his hands to create a rift between you and Vansh by using Ragini. He wouldn't want to lose you so soon his supposed pawn.

Ridhima: If you say so. But as said, be careful. I don't want to lose you Sejal.

Sejal hugs her and kisses on her cheek and says,

"trust me Ritzy, I will never leave you. I will be always with you and stand beside you. None can do anything to me. Don't you know I'm a cat woman? No wait that's too girly" (with disgust)"In short The invincible."

Ridhima laughs at her expressions and words and hugs her back. The one person who is amazed to see their bond is Dadi who was crossing the room of Vansh and Ridhima. She is happy to see such a true friendship before her eyes.

Sejal was coming down from the stairs and met with Ishani and Aryan who were ready to humiliate her. On the other side, Vansh saw the situation while Angre wanted to intervene but Vansh stopped him and said,

"Let's see."

Ishani: See Aryan, we have another person in the house who is ready to eat free food? I mean Ridhima's friends are also beggars like her.

Aryan: You're right Ishani. Look at her, who can say she is a girl? I mean being a boy, I feel as If I'm speaking to a boy? Are you bisexual?

Both laugh and Sejal tries to control her anger. She knew the moment she loses her temperament both, Ishani and Aryan would be dead. One phone call from her can bring the destruction of Rai Singhania's yet for the sake of Ridhima, she should calm her nerves. She smiles at both of them and says, with a vast and over sweet smile.

"Thanks for the appreciation Aryan. You see I'm glad you agreed you're a boy because a real man doesn't stab from the back. You know what I mean?"

Aryan shifts his gaze from Sejal though it went unnoticed by Ishani. Vansh has noticed it who just reached the moment. He understood something might have happened between Sejal and Aryan. He got reminded of the incident where Ridhima said Chanchal and Aryan might have kidnapped her. Could it be true?

Sejal: Aur Ishani, tum. I love you. You don't know how much I love you I mean you are an inspiration. You know why because you don't need to do anything. Everything for you happens through your brother. He earns while you happily spend the money. I mean, did you ever saw a woman who does nothing yet is so proud of herself? Nah, right? Indeed it's a talent to be like this. Not earning a single penny for yourself but showing to the world, "I'm doing a lot. Wow," I do appreciate such talents because I don't have it. You see, my brother works very hard, yet, I do work for myself. Whatever I earn is my money, not my brother's. My mother taught me to stand on my foot and never be dependent on anyone. Whereas you never learned those lessons so, you are like this. I'm glad I met you. I should introduce you to my mother and tell her that I should have grown up like you. (with a mocking thinking face)

"It is not easy to be like me,"

said Ishani icily and making Sejal roll her eyes and laugh along with Aryan. They both look at each other and pass a heavy glare against each other and moves. Whereas Vansh clearly understood what Sejal had said. She has humiliated his sister saying she is a spoiled brat.

Vansh: Find every minute details about Sejal, Angre. Who are her brother and everything?

Angre: But Bhai, why do we want to know about her. She is the best friend of Ridhima bhabi.

Vansh: This Ridhima has a habit of trusting everyone Angre. She has trusted Kabir and see where is she now? I'm taking revenge on Kabir by using her. She now trusts me. I am the only person in the world who has the right to hurt her Angre. I didn't give the right or permission to anyone else to hurt her. So find about Sejal, if she is faithful, then she is the saviour of Ridhima from the heartbreak she faces from me. If not Sejal is dead.

Angre left in deep thoughts of Vansh's behaviour. He can see Vansh's obsession with Ridhima. Yet, Vansh himself is unable to understand it because he listens to his mind but not to the heart. Angre can foresee the situation. Vansh will learn to listen to his core soul in a hard way.

Vansh reaches to his Kailash Chachu room and sees him packing his stuff.

"You are leaving us again?"

says Vansh.

"No matter where am I, but my heart resides with you all and especially with you Vansh."

Vansh: There is no need for you to go. Our workers in Singapore can handle the project.

Kailash: If someone is not present to control them, then the employees can misuse our trust in them. So I need to see how things are happening. I will come back soon this time.

Vansh: You are busier than me, Chachu. How did Dadi agree this time?

Kailash: I told her the truth. Maa understands our employees need us. However, you have a life with your wife. I didn't have any proper conversation with her but, I can say she is a nice girl. Keep her happy, Okay?

Vansh then remembers how Riddhima reacted the day Kailash entered the house. That day for a moment he couldn't understand what happened but eventually, she was ok around Chachu, well guess it was the initial nervousness since she was being told about his strictness and a new person in the family who wasn't even mentioned till he was to arrive. Considering the kind of family members he had can't really blame her either. Looking at Kailash, after Dadi and Sia if he ever trusted anyone in this family it has to be his Chachu. He is the epitome of goodness.

Brushing his thoughts aside, he says,

"I will say Angre to drop you at the airport."

Kailash smiles and says,

"Sure".

Dadi: Take care, Kailash. Eat on time and don't stay until late at night

Kailash smiles and says,

"I'm listening to the same since I was 5 years old."

Dadi: No matter how old you grow even if you become 500 years old, I will keep saying the same words and asking the same question to you and hugs him

Kailash bids goodbye to everyone and stands before Ridhima who stood before him with a nervous smile. Kailash sees this and says,

"I couldn't have a proper talk with your dear. But I can say you are somehow nervous seeing me. Am I that intimidating and scary?" (questions with a sweet teasing smile)

That question makes her raise her head and giving a sweet smile of her own to him,

"Just a bit I won't deny it"

Kailash nods his head at that with a smile on his face and said,

"I can understand I get that a lot. Guess staying away from home for so long and dealing with all kinds of people out there does that. I had to leave early so couldn't get to talk to you properly but, once I come back we get to know each other and you dear can make me some delicious dishes of yours. I have heard you are a wonderful cook but in this rush did not get the opportunity to taste the food from your hands and you can teach me how to be not so scary and be unlike that husband of yours." said the last part with a conspiring whisper to Riddhima bringing a smile on her face, escape a laugh from dadi and Vansh grumble.

Then taking out a beautiful set of diamond bangles he gave them to Ridhima and said,

"Here this is for you. I couldn't come to your wedding but this your wedding gift from me, Hope you like it."

putting his hand on her head for a blessing he said.

"Take care of the house Ridhima and yourself. God bless you."

smiling at her.
