His hold on her shoulder before leaving was rather comforting and reassuring.
She glanced up above her shoulder and gave him a brave look.
His eyes told her he wanted to believe her but he needed the time to think and maybe she did too.
“Mrs Bajaj..It looks like Rishabh is out of any danger now.. “ Said the doctor walking out into the porch where Prerna was sat with Mr Mehra.
“Its Just a matter of regaining consciousness and strength now that’s all, maybe a day or two.”
Whilst Mr Mehras eyes lit up, Prerna’s teared up ever so slightly in relief before a smile appeared on her face.
“Thank you doctor “she said instantly showing her gratitude whilst Shekar was more logical but of course over the moon.
“lets not let anyone else on the details please doctor.. ” Mehra said quickly thinking it would be better to let Rishabhs enemies think they’ve succeeded for now.
Prerna who shared a silent dialogue with him agreed.
She was happy for Shekhar to take the doctor away and talk him into agreement.
With a moment to herself she walked to Rishabhs bedside and perched on the side quietly. Watching his chest rise and fall, his heart beat now beginning to sound familiar now.
She ran her hands through the strands of his hair and took comfort in knowing he’d be with her again soon.

Hearing a sudden thudding coming From downstairs she pulls away from Rishabh to check.
Tanvi seemed to be sneaking back into the house after a night out it seemed.
“ Tum theekh ho” (Are you okay?”) Prerna said actually worried at the way Tani was walking in bare feet carrying her shoes, into the house without much lighting to guide her until Prerna had switched on the light.
“Yes my dam heal broke” she cursed sinking into the sofa like she had the weight of the world to deal with.
Prerna bought a bottle of water over from the fridge took a seat next to where Tanvi was slouched.
“Thanks she said in return” putting her feet down
“I just had to get out” she said trying to explain why she’d chosen this approach.
“I know, Prerna gave Tanvi a considerate look, heart break wasn’t easy
are you still mad at him? She asked referring to Rishabh.
“I will be when he wakes up” she said unmonitored and then getting more annoyed. “It’s not just him it’s all all men I hate all of them” she groaned and then picked up her heals and walked off
“Goodnight”
“Goodnight” replied Prerna worrying about her but wanting to smile as well because there were times in the past she shared that view.
Watching Tanvi walk away Prerna thought back to a conversation between Rishabh and Tanvi and dreaded thought did cross her mind.
Flashback
“Is it true that you blackmailed Yash into breaking up with me.”
Tanvi barged into the lounge where Prerna and rishabh were sat talking.
“I’m sorry to hear it’s not worked out”
Replied Rishabh in his own signature way.
“Did you bribe him?” Yelled Tanvi and Prernas eyes shot up to Mr Bajaj.
“I encouraged him to rethink” A uncomfortable feeling went though Prerna when she heard Mr Bajajs reply to his sister.
“Why?!”!Tanvis voice got even more angry.
“I did my research on him and what you say about him doesn’t match with my intel, he’s not to be trusted” he explained calmly like this was some business deal with logic. Prerna could see why Tanvi was hurt.
“You had no right!” She screamed angrily
“You’re a Bajaj and so yes I do You’ll thank me later responded Rishabh with Prerna looking at him disappointed.
End of flashback
Something like that couldn’t have been a reason for hurting Rishabh could it she pondered, no she was overthinking but she couldn’t trust anyone right now.
Getting up to get back to Mr Bajaj Prerna came across something that had fallen out of Tanvis pocket it seemed. A strip of medication of some sort? Her doubtful mind wanted to jump to calling Mr Mehra but it could wait until the morning.
