It's not that black and white. Police cracked this case by using this tactic because nothing worked on terrorists including third degree.
And it's not that family members of these terrorists were complete saints.

Please, please don't troll regarding a sensitive topic like sexual assault.

Yes, that comment was in very bad taste.👎🏼. Harley should delete it.

I'm not trolling. This was really a way used by police to take out confession from the terrorists in the film, and maybe in real too.
I'm not supporting it. But just presenting the reasoning given by police, and it wasn't only sexual assault. They were brutally beating the female family members of these terrorists.

Well, you said, "It's not black and white and the families were not saints". If it's not supporting, then what was it?

Because yes, it's not black and white, and yes, the family members were not saints.
It's easy to say that this is right and wrong but real life doesn't have such clarity.
The police had a lot of pressure regarding this case and none of the suspects they caught were cooperating with them.
Most suspects they caught turned out to be guilty but some didn't and they still faced brutality of the police. This still happens in any case.
I'm not supporting anything. I'm presenting the other side of the argument because nobody did. If everybody on this thread had said that it was okay with what the police did, then I would have presented your side of the argument to them.
No, rape and sexual assault are wrong no matter what the circumstance. Even torture is cruel and inhumane. The police and armed forces in many places resort to unscrupulous practices, and it is unethical in each and every case. Due process, rules, and regulations are there for a reason. We cannot make exceptions and justify cruelty.

What about the extra-legal procedures adopted by the American agencies after the you-know-what incident in 2001? Gitmo and other unfair practices adopted by American agencies under the B administration? Those must have played a fair role in catching and pinning down a large number of the perpetrators, right?
