Yes, it becomes quite ridiculous many times, isiliye toh I'm calling it comedy now
....thing is, the basic concept is lovely and quite nice....it has that feel of an intense, transcendent love. But in the need to continue the show for the sake of it, that concept gets diluted. Even if they wanted to show a Radha connection to everything in Krishna's life, they should have shown them communicating telepathically or in their imaginations....wahaan bhi the understanding and love between them would have come through. Instead, when they physically insert her into his married life, it gets messy.....lol. But then if I was to play devil's advocate, I'd say maybe that's what they want to show....ki we might want to imagine Krishna's life as compartmentalized....ki ek phase mein Radha ko pyar kiya and then he moved on to the wives
, but what if it wasn't that simple?
The main issue for me was also the actors playing wives of Krishna did not appeal to me and the book I read had depicted this phase beautifully. So in my mind I was comparing with that😆 It was as you said mainly shown as telepathically or them meeting but not in actual physical form. But you cannot compare a book to a TV show as both have their own limitations and advantages.
The makers are showing their own interpretation, so technically we cannot say its right or wrong as Radha was not mentioned at all in earlier texts:)
For any average person, it's weird to watch Radha trying to fit in along with his married life with the various wives....why intersect these two different types of love in his life? Cringe toh hoga hi...but if we were to pause for a second and think about the core concept again - where Krishna says that their love is timeless and divine, then Radha can manage to be woven through every aspect of his life - even his married life
. Again, I'm not saying that doesn't make it weird to watch...I'm just saying ki if we allowed for the fact that the concept basically says that they aren't limited by time or societal norms, then Radha-Krishna can technically be there in every part of each other's lives
....I guess the show tried to execute jitna they could manage but no matter how hard they try, it will always be weird to watch in terms of execution. You can call the love jitna marzi divine, but hain toh humankind ke beech mein hi...upar se mujhe waise hi yeh mythos and historicals mein multiple wives wala drama funny lagne lag padta hai....like how did ppl manage so many wives
....they can say anything on paper but execution mein seeing so many wives just gets funny
.....this is probably why in many series, they try to use creative license to fixate on some of the wives rather than all
. Yahaan bhi I guess they've fixated on 3 of Krishna's wives rather than the 8 prime ones he had
Thats actually true, no matter how you try to execute it or show your interpretation in a very beautiful way, at some level it is difficult to digest, especially if we are watching it from todays lens. Also as you said no matter how you execute, showing so many wives and his relationship in detail with them would make it awkward and funny to watch😆 So considering all things they have managed well and I guess thats why we are still able to watch by compartmentalizing😆
LOLL don't worry apekshaayein ab nahin hain meri is show se
....ab mainly curiosity hai cuz the show seems to be heading towards the Golok point now
. I had no expectations when I watched these recent epis and I was surprised ki RK ka core still is holding vis a vis the throwbacks to talking about Golok....lol no expectations motto will remain. Bas curiosity satisfy karni hai ki kaise jaayenge Golok
The book ends with their Golokaagman. It describes in detail, how they leave their body and meet at one place for their journey together to Golok.
The most interesting part is when Radhaji tells Uddhav about a small spat she had with Krishna during one of their arguments 😆 Krishna says whats the big deal, we stayed and enjoyed 10 years with each other and for the rest you knew that I am alive and well, so you have that consolation. So many widows and other women experience such physical distance for the entire life. This kind of sarcasm hurts her and she gets angry and again takes a promise that in the Kaliyug her avatar will take place without him, in a desert as opposed to this fertile land. Spiritually she will be completely devoted to him but physically she will be married to other. In this avatar she never set foot outside the Vraj bhoomi but in the other one she will move from one village to other singing his bhakti songs and then will leave her body in his Karmabhoomi Dwarka!
PS: Hellaro is not available with subtitles on any site, I could only find it on MX Player without subtitle:(
