So sweet. Thank you. Hope you find it interesting. I already have some ideas churning in my head for an OS. What's the deadline for the contest?

The OS Contest deadline is 31st October.

I hope you have not gotten confused with the two threads - this one is a kinda game like thing where a Prompt is given to start from, and everyone will keep on adding a few sentences to eventually make a complete story. It's named Spin-a-tale and is just for fun.

The other thread is the one for OS contest. There 2 themes are given and you have to write accordingly. Rules have also been mentioned in the thread -

Prompt 1 :

She was in her own house but it seemed very different. Or was it because of the pitch darkness? Why was it so dark anyway? They always kept the lights near the staircase on. Maybe it was a power-cut, although it was quite unheard of to have power-cuts in their area!

She stumbled around wondering where she could find some light source. The kitchen might have some candles. Just as the thought of candles crossed her mind, she saw one being lighted. Aah! Finally some light. But who was this lady holding the candle?

She called out to her twice before finally catching the lady's attention. She tried to talk to her and ask who she was but there was no response. Just as she decided to give up and find her own way around, the lady turned....

Prompt 1 continuation

She freaked out and started screaming, " Aaaaaa Chudailllll, Devi Maiya Bachaoo".

He was taken back seeing her reaction.

She suddenly turns around and hugs him tightly.

"Khushi?! Tum theek ho? What happened? Why are you yelling?" Arnav holds her shoulders, trying to shake an explanation out of her.

"Arnav ji! That- that chudail is here! Devi Maiyya, it's a ghost!" She is at the brink of tears now, shifting closer to him for protection.

He then makes an amused face and turns her around. "There's no one here, Khushi. See?"

No one here? She thinks. But I swear I saw someone...

Arnav rushes to hold her before she falls.

He carries her in his arms shouting for HP to bring the torch along to help them get to their bedroom.

After laying her on the bed he covers her with a quilt only to hear her murmuring , "Arnavji mat jaiye".

He lies down next to her. He brings her face closer to him and whispers sweet nothings to comfort her.
