He looked stressed thought Prerna as she paused at the reception of the office and looked into his cabin. Now wasn’t the time to let him know she was going home ill he had too much on his plate. “How long has Mr Bajaj been working?, she asked Casually worried more about him then herself.
“Since this morning ” answered his PA. When he set his eyes on something he got like like this Many cigars, bad temper and caffeine
“please make sure he has lunch and don’t tell him I’ve left because I’m not feeling well please”The PA agreed.

“Kya ho raha hai? what’s going on back there? ” Asked Prerna as she kept her eyes on the road on her drive home feeling a little weak but wanted to treat herself to a conversation with the girls.
“Nani mas giving us a bath Because a made a mess with the the paints .. “ explained kuki which put a smile to Prernas face who could hear the splish splash of water created by Sneha in the background.
“Da!??” Could be heard every now and again too with Kuki also asking whether their father would be home before bed time. He’d missed out on seeing them for the last few evenings. Prerna skilfully avoided the question the way moms could. She couldn’t however avoid her mother’s question who obviously questioned why Prerna was heading home mid day.

Prerna felt horrible, her bones were feeling weak, her head sore, all the signs of a fever. As soon as reached home Mr Bajajs chair looked favourable to sink into.
Kuki had seen her Nani cover her mom with a blanket and realised her mom was ill. She needed looking after thought Kuki and did what she knew best to do when she felt ill, call her Pa.

No matter what went on in the office Rishabh always took calls from his family especially his girls when he knew Prerna was in the office too.
“Pa moms ill” said Kuki making Rishabh attentive off the fact that he hadn’t seen Prerna around the office for some time now.

He looked over his wife who was huddled up in a bit of a cocoon under a blanket in what was known as his chair.
Her heartbeat seemed to fall and rise steadily but she looked weak, pale.
How had he not caught it earlier if she wasn’t well ? On the way to the office in the car or from his PA. He put the back of his palm to her forehead and felt it be warm.
“Will you make mom tomato soup you make me when I’m ill?” asked Kuki from down beside her father. Of course surprising Veena a little who reassured Mr Bajaj that it was just a seasonal cold but couldn’t possibly interrupt the conversation between father and daughter leaving them to it.
“And a hot water bottle ?” Adds Kuki reminding him of all the things he’d do for her and he should for Prerna too.
Rishabh looked at his daughter with agreement and soon enough Kuki was drawing a her mom a get well soon card and the kitchen table whilst her Pa made soup.

Opening her eyes to find herself in a blanket at the chair shed merely closed her eyes on for a moment with a cushion for comfort and a hot water bottle. On the coffee table in front of her a covered warm meal, The surprise on all these little things came after a little bit of a shock of seeing Mr Bajaj sat in a chair in front of her pouring a glass of water for her.
“How are you feeling?”
“Better magar Aap yaha, shouldn’t you be in the in the office?”
“Kuki insists I should be helping you get better and she’s right”
Prerna didn’t like the thought of having to be nursed and least by him although it showed yet another softer side of her husband surely he had more important things to do as Rishabh Bajaj.
Rishabh on the other hand didn’t see it that way he took comfort in seeing Prerna smile while Kuki ran up to her with the card she made her and all she had to tell her about how her Pa had looked after he’d just the way he looked after her when she got ill. Kukis sweet talk gave away all of the little things Rishabh had done her to help her get better
After she ate her soup Pa would carry her up the stairs to her room suggested Kuki just he as did when she was ill which
made both Prerna and Rishabh smile at the suggestion and share a intimate gaze of affection and care towards one and other. Her eyes trying to tell him he need not pay her so much attention and in return his telling her that his love for her was as important in this moment as it was any other time.
