I have read all his books and biography later penned by Rahul Singh ( his son and ex editor Readers Digest) ... He clearly brings out that we as indians love gossip and slander, name calling... May be those days it wasn't as prominent and obnoxious as it is now...

Glad you brought up Khushwant Singh. Yes, Illustrated weekly beat India Today because of all the sensationalism, gossip and controversy he created. And he got away with that because he was a very good friend of Indira Gandhi. I think all over the world, people love gossip, slander, name calling.

Arnab took it to a level nobody could imagine and got TRPs in return...again that others didn't expect he would.

@mukta - channels cannot decide who is culprit whatever be the suspicious activity of the person. They cannot display banner of arrest of just a suspect when enquiry is going on. They should be careful before throwing slur on best police force. In India police are not an independent body. These same channels gave so much importance to kangna when little part of her house was demolished. They ran this story for days together. These same channels were showing Rhea swimming and gymming in short cloths in the middle of the screen to catch eyeballs of viewer's while showing guest interviews on one side of the same screen everyday. They have gone as cheap and possible to Garner TRPs. They should be held accountable for their deplorable actions.
