Yeah, it was kind weird because Vijay was the one to encourage him to attend the classes (from a teacher's point of view) & learn things about the army life aside from Suman (barring the father's POV & the whole drama that followed afterwards). Like a guru-shishya relationship developed followed by receiving the award for best male cadet. There was a bit of empathy when he heard of Vijay's death & he tried to console Suman( before they returned home + split up drama) but it's all about winding up the long due court case as of now.

At least, as his former student, he can be shown thinking about the lessons he learned from Vijay.
